Fans of roguelikes need not fear because Warriors: Abyss has a good upgrade path. Players can unlock heroes in this latest Koei Tecmo/Omega Force game in a skill tree that will then boost stats. Of course, there are temporary upgrades to find in dungeons too. One of these systems is called Emblems and there are eleven different types in total.

6 Beginner Tips For Warriors: Abyss
New to Warriors: Abyss? With these beginner tips, players can make their way through the underworld without a hitch.
They include Vigor, Skill, Strength, Speed, Wisdom, Charm, Flame, Ice, Bolt, Wind, and Slay. The more players collect a particular Emblem, the greater the rewards will be called Effect Upgrades. Based on the types in Warriors: Abyss, let’s go through some of the best tiers and unlocks to look forward to. These will be ranked based on usefulness to the player during a run.
7
Elemental Effect Upgrades
Flame, Ice, and Bolt
The five elemental Emblems in the game are not as good as the physical attributes players can find. Among the five, Flame is the best as it can imbue a weapon with fire. This fire attribution can also cause enemies to become aflame and take damage over time similar to burn effects in other RPGs like Pokemon. Another elemental Emblem example is Ice which can freeze enemies in place only temporarily though. So, while elemental Emblems have their uses, they’re not the ones players should focus on collecting in a run.
6
Skill Effect Upgrades
Unlock Attack Actions And Raise Attack Speed
The Skill Emblem’s functionality may seem off to fans of RPGs as it doesn’t raise the power of abilities. Instead, most upgrade tiers will boost the speed of attacks and the rate of combos. For example, Unlock Attack Actions will be the first Effect Upgrade players can get if they pick up one Skill Emblem.

This will give players more of an edge when they string combos together. Raise Attack Speed demands players to collect three Skill Emblems. This Effect Upgrade is good for slower characters like Guan Yu to speed up their attacks.
5
Charm Effect Upgrades
Unlock Formation Skills and Reduce Summon Cooldown
The Charm Emblems will help with Formations and summoning allies to battle. On a run, players can collect allies and summon them into battle for a quick move. Afterward, they will disappear and can only be summoned again after their cooldowns expire. Six can be gathered in total and placed on a grid called a Formation and there are tons of Formation types to collect from moons to stars. With one Charm Emblem, players can access Formation abilities to further boost allies. With four Charm Emblems, players can lessen cooldowns with the aptly named Reduce Summon Cooldown Effect Upgrade. It’s a bit disappointing that there is no co-op in Warriors: Abyss for a series known for couch co-op, but at least players can have A.I.-based allies.
4
Strength Effect Upgrades
Extend Summoning Skill Duration
The Strength Emblems are also beneficial to summoned allies. One of the better ones that have various upgrade tiers begins with four Strength Emblems. Extend Summoning Skill Duration will elongate the attack pattern of an alloy. This is most important for characters that summon storms of area-effecting attacks like waves of magic or a hail of arrows. This first tier won’t extend the attacks for more than a second or two but sometimes that’s all players need to squeak out a victory in a challenging roguelike.
3
Vigor Effect Upgrades
Interrupt Telegraphed Attacks And Increase Range
The Vigor Emblems will give players a lot of great bonuses for every tier they make it to. For starters, one Strength Emblem will unlock Interrupt Telegraphed Attacks. Most of the bigger enemies in the game will telegraph their attacks with a purple radius which gives players a signal to dodge asap. Interrupt Telegraphed Attacks can stop these attacks from occurring altogether but it does take a good combo to knock them out. Another good Effect Upgrade for Vigor Emblems is Increase Range which requires four Emblems. These are good for characters who typically have ranged weapons like Ina who uses a bow or Oichi who uses hoops that twirl around enemies.
2
Wisdom Effect Upgrades
Increase Musou Attack Power And Consecutive Hits Recover Health
The Wisdom Emblem will help with Musou power in a variety of ways. That’s why Dynasty Warriors, Samurai Warriors, and all other spinoffs are collectively known as Musou games. Every character has a special attack, a Musou attack, that can inflict devastating damage on a wide scale.

Dynasty Warriors is one of the most popular series in the hack-and-slash action genre, but with so many games, which one stands tall as the very best?
So in Warriors: Abyss, Increase Musou Attack Power will obviously strengthen moves and it only takes one Wisdom Emblem to unlock. Another good Effect Upgrade is Consecutive Hits Recover Health, which takes three Wisdom Emblems and will allow players to recover small amounts of health from combos.
1
Speed Effect Upgrades
Invulnerable Evade and Increase Evasion Count
Collecting Speed Emblems is the most important thing players can do to stay alive longer in Warriors: Abyss. For starters, one Speed Emblem will unlock Invulnerable Evade, giving players a brief window to be invincible after taking damage. More importantly, four Speed Emblems will unlock another dodge via Increase Evasion Count. The more Increase Evasion Count tiers players reach, the more they can dodge overall and dodges do recover like summoning cooldowns. Hattori and Kunoichi, who are ninja characters, are naturally speedy, so Speed Emblems will make them even better in battle. Overall, bosses demand a high evasion count because their area of attacks is large and one dodge simply won’t cut it.
