However, you can’t just put metal leg armor over the top of your underwear in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. You need to have padded leg and foot protection equipped first before you can put on the armor. Knowing what counts as padded foot protection isn’t clear, though.

When you head into your inventory and try to equip plated leg armor, the game won’t let you. You’re prompted to get padded foot protection first.

In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, padded foot protection is worm under armor and has to be equipped first. You have a few options, with Padded Chausses the most obvious thing to wear. Since they’re not common clothing items, it’s understandable that you might not know what they do.

While Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 tells you to get ‘padded foot protection’, it’s protecting your legs that’s more important.

You’ve now got to try and find Padded Chausses to wear under your leg armor. First of all, you can buy them from Tailors in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.

You’re unlikely to find them in the Trosky region, since you don’t get access to plate leg armor until the Kuttenberg region, but most Tailors in the second region will sell them. As you can see in the screenshot above, the Tailor in the middle of Kuttenberg City will sell them.

Alternatively, you can loot padded foot protection from guards and soldiers who are wearing plate leg armor. If you kill them in combat, you can loot their bodies and grab any Padded Chausses they’re wearing. Just don’t let anyone see you wearing them or be spotted stealing from the dead.

While the full price of Padded Chausses is around 150-170 Groschen, you can get them for a lower price if you haggle well.
