Blacksmithing is a great way to get some of the best weapons in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 since you can personally influence the quality of the weapon, giving it better overall stats than other similar weapons. To even start blacksmithing, you’ll need the right materials which will vary from weapon to weapon.

On top of the various metals, you’ll have to find throughout the world, Fastening Materials are also a fairly basic component that you’ll need to stock up on if you plan on doing a lot of blacksmithing. Here’s where to go to buy Fastening Materials to get it easily.

The easiest way to get Fastening Materials is to buy them since they are not a naturally occurring resource in the game such as herbs. You can find Fastening Materials at any blacksmith in the game, and that should be your go-to choice. In the first region of the game, there are two blacksmiths you can visit fairly early into the game to get Fastening Materials:

  • Blacksmith Radovan – Tachov
  • Blacksmith Osina – Trosky Castle

Since there are only a few blacksmiths in the game, the other option is general traders, though these are a bit less common. Merchant Jurg Thomel in Troskowitz also sells Fastening Material, so fast traveling between these three locations can help you stock up on some early into the game if needed.

Fastening Materials are made, so they can’t be farmed in the open world. Your best bet when trying to find some for free is to travel to bandit camps and clear them out. There’s a chance Fastening Materials are found on the bandits or in the chests of their camps. The loot in the chests and the bandits at the camp will respawn every few days, so keep checking back to farm these locations. Even without finding Fastening Materials at these locations, you can at least stock up on weapons and armor to sell for more money to buy Fastening Materials at the above merchant locations.

Bandit Camps can easily be poisoned in order to clear them out without any major combat. Their locations will also be marked on the map so you can easily find them again whenever needed.
