Here’s a lesson in why you should never, ever forget about brick-and-mortar PC stores. One lucky gamer was able to get an incredible deal at their local Walmart store, purchasing an AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D gaming CPU for just $99.75. That’s a huge 88% discount on the 7800X3D’s $449 MSRP, saving this buyer a massive $350.

This AMD processor is a firm favorite of ours, featuring in our best gaming CPU guide as our top choice until the 9800X3D dethroned it. It’s still our number two choice, however, and offers a huge amount of power and performance for gaming, thanks in large part to its 3D V-Cache technology.

An AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D on sale at Walmart for just $99.75.

The story of this incredible bargain came via a Reddit post on the r/pcmasterrace subreddit. According to OP Global-Pickle5818, this particular Walmart store is closing down its PC component section, so the huge retailer was putting big discounts on PC stock to clear it out quickly. At least four 7800X3D’s were available at the $99 pricing, with this lucky gamer managing to pick up two of them at the hugely discounted price.

The picture shared by Global-Pickle5818 also shows a price tag for an Intel Core i9 14600K for $77.25, and that CPU currently sells for $239.99 on Newegg. While that processor appears to be out of stock here, judging from the picture, it’s further proof that this Walmart went seriously hard on discounts in order to clear out this PC stock as soon as possible.

All in all, this is one very lucky, and very rare, success story, and congratulations to Global-Pickle5818 for their find.

While you’re unlikely to grab a $99 AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D any time soon, this is a good reminder that the best places to find discounts can often be in your local stores, rather than online. The next time your local Walmart has a sale or unfortunately closes down, it might be worth a quick look in, just to make sure you don’t miss out on any mega-discounts like this one.
