Sparking Zero Mod Adds Daima Transformation to the Game

A new Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero mod adds the now-canon Super Saiyan 4 transformation from the latest episode of Dragon Ball: Daima. The ape-like Super Saiyan 4 was introduced in the Dragon Ball GT anime of the late 90s, and it would since appear in several Dragon Ball video games, including last year’s Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero. However, Dragon Ball GT is considered non-canon, and the Super Saiyan 4 transformation would never appear in any other Dragon Ball series for nearly three decades.

This all changed with the latest episode of Dragon Ball: Daima, in which Goku finally transformed into a modified version of Super Saiyan 4 during a battle against Majin Gomah. Dragon Ball: Daima was one of the last projects that Dragon Ball creator Akira Toriyama worked on before his passing last March, meaning that, just like Vegeta’s previously unused Super Saiyan 3 form before it, Goku’s new Super Saiyan 4 transformation is now an official part of the Dragon Ball canon at long last.

The inclusion of Super Saiyan 4 in proper canon was met with celebration from longtime Dragon Ball fans, and a few have already put together mods to add the new version to Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero. According to The Gamer, Patreon user EmiG84 recently answered a bounty for anyone to mod the new SSJ4 form into Sparking Zero with their own mod. As shown in a subsequent YouTube video of the mod in action, this alternate Super Saiyan 4 is different from the one already in the game as it depicts the de-aged Goku instead of the adult form that was featured in Dragon Ball GT.

EmiG84 is planning to create a similar mod for a Super Saiyan 4 Vegeta, even though the Saiyan prince has yet to take on this new version of the SSJ4 transformation in Dragon Ball: Daima. They aren’t the only ones to create a Daima Super Saiyan 4 mod either, as GameBanana’s Loryan YT recently posted a similar one that alters the adult SSJ4 Goku from Dragon Ball GT to more closely resemble his new canon iteration.

So far, EmiG84’s Super Saiyan 4 Goku mod is only available on their Patreon, but an official version might be added to Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero through DLC in the future. The child-like Daima version of Goku in his base form was already included as a pre-order bonus, and both upcoming Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero DLC packs promise to add even more characters from the new anime later this year.
