Solo Leveling made it into the news in Japan – or got really close to that. Solo Leveling has been breaking records on Crunchyroll, but some still claim that the series is not that famous in Japan, as it is originally a South Korean webnovel.
Well, while Solo Leveling may indeed be stronger with anime audiences outside Japan, it doesn’t mean that the anime isn’t popular there or that the production team is not investing hard to make it reach new heights. And the latest ad for the anime just confirms that, yes, Solo Leveling is a strong series, even though it may not be as strong as Demon Slayer.

This Manhwa Shows What Solo Leveling Would Be Like If There Were Multiple Players
Early into the era of official English-translated manhwa was a series that asked what would happen if hundreds of people could alter their own stats.
While Solo Leveling Season 2 Episode 7 was airing in Japan, the BS11 TV channel interrupted it to make an announcement: there is a new S-rank hunter in town. It is a mock-news ad for the series, featuring Riria (from the Nogizaka46 idol group) as the anchor announcing this breaking news. The video is available on Aniplex’s YouTube channel:
This commercial actually turns a scene from the webcomic adaptation into a live-action segment. There is a live-action adaptation in production right now, but it’s unrelated to this ad.
Solo Leveling Breaks Its Own Records on Crunchyroll
When Solo Leveling Season 2 premiered on Crunchyroll, it became the fastest episode to reach 100,000 likes on the service. But the series has recently broken its own record: Episode 6 made it even faster, in just 7 hours – and it even affected Crunchyroll and pirate websites’ servers when it was released, such was the anticipation for this episode.
Bad News for Solo Leveling English Dub Fans
Unfortunately, not all Solo Leveling news in the past few days has been good. Last week, Crunchyroll announced that the English-dubbed version of Season 2 Episode 5 will be delayed, and will premiere on February 22 – however, the schedule for Episode 6 hasn’t been affected, so both Episode 5 and 6 dubs will be released on the same day.
Solo Leveling is currently streaming on Crunchyroll, subbed and dubbed in many languages. It is also on Netflix in select Asian countries.
