Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Announce Late February Paradox Tera Raids

The week before the annual Pokemon Day event, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet announced that Walking Wake and Iron Leaves would return as Five-Star Tera Raid bosses for a limited time. Pokemon Scarlet and Violet players who missed out on previous encounters will have approximately one week to catch these elusive Paradox Pokemon.

As two of the more popular Paradox Pokemon out there, Walking Wake and Iron Leaves are considered the ancient and future versions of Suicune and Virizion, respectively. Walking Wake is a Water and Dragon dual-type monster, while Iron Leaves is a Grass and Psychic creature. However, Walking Wake and Iron Leaves are also version exclusives to Pokemon Scarlet and Pokemon Violet, meaning trainers who want Pokedex credit for both critters will need to trade for them. The last time Walking Wake and Iron Leaves appeared in Tera Raid battles was in late April to early May 2024.

Dedicated Pokemon Home trainers now have a chance to add two more Shiny Mythical creatures to their collections, though it is not an easy task.

With the Milcery Valentine’s Day Tera raid event now over, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet trainers will soon get another chance to catch some Paradox Pokemon. According to Serebii.net, the return of Walking Wake and Iron Leaves as Five-Star Tera Raid bosses will start on Thursday, February 20, at approximately 7:00 PM Eastern, and end on Thursday, February 27, at an undetermined time. Walking Wake will appear in Pokemon Scarlet Tera Raid dens, and Iron Leaves will show up in Pokemon Violet.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Paradox Tera Raids (Late February 2025)

• Walking Wake and Iron Leaves are coming back to Pokemon Scarlet and Violet as Five-Star Tera Raid bosses.
• The Paradox Tera Raid event will run for one week, from February 20 to 27.
• Walking Wake will appear in Pokemon Scarlet, and Iron Leaves will show up in Pokemon Violet.
• The ending of the Walking Wake and Iron Leaves Tera Raids will coincide with Pokemon Day.

Additionally, only one Walking Wake or Iron Leaves can be caught per save file, meaning trainers who have already captured them can’t do so again. Both Paradox Pokemon will drop valuable rewards such as EXP Candies and rare Berries when defeated. Walking Wake will have the Water-Tera type, and Iron Leaves will be a Psychic-Tera boss.

Since both Tera Raid bosses will be level 75, Pokemon trainers with a team of level 100 critters can defeat them without much difficulty. The February 27 end date may be of interest to Pokemon fans, as that is when Pokemon Day will be. With Pokemon Legends: Z-A set to launch later in 2025, it remains to be seen if a Pokemon Presents episode featuring the highly-anticipated Switch title will come to pass.

Additionally, Pokemon Scarlet and Violet trainers have until February 28 to redeem three codes for handy items like the Quick Ball. With Pokemon Day on the horizon, only time will tell what surprises The Pokemon Company has in store.
