Mortal Kombat 1 dataminers have seemingly found evidence that NetherRealm Studios could be adding Hara-Kiri finishers at some point. Shortly after the arrival of Conan the Barbarian, Mortal Kombat 1 gives gamers a glimpse of the future with a look at the T-1000’s Fatality.

Over on the Mortal Kombat subReddit, a user named InfiniteNightZ posted a video of what they claim to be animations for Hara-Kiri fatalities, where characters have brutal ways of killing themselves. Based on the footage, many are speculating that these self-fatalities could be added as Quitalities at some point, as the game’s code even references them as such. Hara-Kiri finishers were originally part of Mortal Kombat: Deception and have been featured in various games since.

More Evidence Of Hara-Kiri Fatalities in Mortal Kombat 1 Surface

While fans should take these findings with a grain of salt until NetherRealm officially comments on them, there’s a bit more evidence supporting that these in fact could be on the way at some point. The footage was also corroborated by another high profile dataminer, Interloko, who found two more that were not included in the initial video. While most Mortal Kombat 1 DLC characters have these animations, only Conan the Barbarian and Omniman are currently without them.

If true, this isn’t the first time Mortal Kombat 1 has added post-launch fatalities, though fans are likely hoping that NetherRealm Studios handles these better than what happened previously. Months after the launch of the game, Mortal Kombat 1 added special holiday fatalities, though the initial price of $10 for one left fans frustrated. The negative response prompted NetherRealm to alter its plans by offering the next two seasonal fatalities for free for those who purchased the first.
