Marvel Rivals is in a pretty good spot at the moment when it comes to balance, but there is one thing that’s been starting to grind the gears of almost every player out there, and that’s support ults. Mantis, Luna Snow, Invisible Woman, and Cloak & Dagger all have the ability to grind fights to halt with their ultimate abilities, essentially making their entire team invincible.
In the higher ranks, an entire game can be won and lost depending on the placement of a support ult, and it’s no surprise that the meta revolves around them right now. It’s been annoying people so much that fans have been calling for NetEase to do something about it, and with a new set of nerfs and buffs around the corner for Season 1.5, it seems as though fans are getting their wish.
Marvel Rivals Season 1.5 Patch Notes Seemingly Include Healer Ult Nerfs
While Marvel Rivals’ Season 1.5 patch notes haven’t been officially published just yet, it seems as though they were accidentally published in Chinese earlier today. Fans were very quick to grab these patch notes and translate them, which were then shared by Twitter account X0X Leaks. While we don’t get the full picture, it seems as though healer ults are getting hit hard.
Almost every single healer with an invincibility ult is having their cost increased, meaning they won’t be able to build ult as quickly as they’re currently able to. Cloak & Dagger have been hit particularly hard, as the cost of their ult is seemingly being creased from 3400 to 4000, while their fog’s duration has been reduced to 8 seconds.
The healing effect of the dash will no longer stack too, meaning the healing potential of the ultimate has been significantly reduced. The one buff is that Cloak & Dagger’s pause between dashes has been significantly reduced, meaning she’ll be much harder to hit with ults from the likes of Magneto or Scarlet Witch.
Every other character has been tweaked in some way, though it’s worth noting these are only partial patch notes. There’s no info on changes to Wolverine right now, which would be surprising given how much of a tank buster he is, but we do know that significant buffs seem to be coming for the likes of Venom, Captain America, Iron Fist, and Adam Warlock.
Of course, this is a leak, so it’s worth taking with a pinch of salt for now, but they seem to be legit based on the issues they address so far. We’ll know for sure which characters have been hit hard when the patch notes drop, which will likely happen in the next few days.
