One passionate Marvel Rivals fan has shared their Hela cosplay, recreating the intimidating look of the Marvel supervillain to an impressive degree. First introduced in the comics in 1964, Hela has been shown as one of the usual adversaries of Thor over the decades and most recently appeared in NetEase’s hero shooter, Marvel Rivals.
Hela is one of those Marvel Comics characters whose stock has risen significantly among the mainstream audience since her appearance in the MCU. While the Goddess of Death made her live-action debut in 2017’s Thor: Ragnarok, she had already popped up in a few different video games prior to that. From Marvel: Future Fight, a 2015 mobile game, to the highly popular online multiplayer game Marvel Rivals, Hela has appeared in a variety of titles as either a playable character or as a boss. Thanks to the success of certain live-action and video game adaptations, Hela’s fan-base has multiplied with time. Recently, one particular Hela enthusiast channeled one of the Thor antagonist’s looks from Marvel Rivals through their cosplay.

On Reddit, user Desiluted showcased pictures of their Hela cosplay, showing off the highly detailed costume and props inspired by the character’s default skin in Marvel Rivals. The post depicted the creative Marvel follower in an iconic black suit with green accents all over. Complementing this outfit are the huge multipronged helmet, the dark green cape, high-heeled black sandals, and the sword bearing crooked spikes. When asked about the very accurately recreated helmet, Desiluted revealed that they 3D-printed “most of it” and then bound the parts together, which took them “40 hours of work.” Moreover, they shared having to cut the headgear of the Marvel Rivals character “down the middle” to fit their head into it the right way.

The well-crafted Hela cosplay by Desiluted generated tons of engagement in the Marvel Rivals subreddit, getting over 22,000 upvotes and over 500 comments. In a lighthearted comment hinting at the sheer size of Hela’s helmet, one Reddit user said, “Am I the only one curious as to how Hela navigates through doorways???” A bunch of other users commended the quality of the cosplay, in particular the attention-grabbing headgear. Similar to this, in the past, various other fan creations have evoked a strong response on social media, such as the Marvel Rivals concept featuring Doctor Octopus.
Back in January, Marvel Rivals kicked off its inaugural season and refreshed the game’s content, adding Mr. Fantastic and Invisible Woman into the mix.
