This event, the Scattered to the Winds Event, will only last for three days, spanning from Tuesday, February 18, 2025, at 10am local time, to Thursday, February 20, 2025, at 8pm local time. Pokemon Go Debut: Shiny Scatterbug
Starting with this event, you will have the chance of obtaining Shiny Scatterbug in Pokemon Go for the first time. That being said, even during this event, you will still only be able to catch Scatterbug as a reward for pinning different Postcards you receive from friends.
Although this may be the case, Scatterbug encountered during the Scattered to the Winds Event will have increased chances of being Shiny. Additionally, during this event you will have the opportunity to open more Gifts than usual, allowing you to pin more Postcards and catch more Scatterbug.

Event Research
Paid Timed Research
Paid Timed Research will be available in the Pokemon Go in-game shop during this event, costing $5.00 USD. Those who purchase this Timed Research will unlock different in-game tasks to complete, rewarding you with the following upon their completion:
- Three Rare Candies
- 16,500 Stardust
- Event-themed Pokemon encounters
- Event-themed avatar pose
Event Field Research Tasks
Spinning different PokeStops during this event will provide you with Event Field Research Tasks. Completing these limited-time tasks will provide you with either Rare Candy or event-themed Pokemon encounters.
Event Collection Challenge
There will be a Collection Challenge available to complete during this event, requiring you to evolve specific Pokemon. Completing this Collection Challenge will reward you with Stardust, XP, and a Scyther encounter.
