The FNCS is the gathering place for the top player each season, but like other tournaments there’s always some who try to get ahead with unfair practises. In a recent event, an FNCS cheater has been discovered. Using cheating software to try and qualifying for the biggest event in Fortnite. It seems Epic’s taken some severe action to punish the player too.
The newly caught FNCS cheater won’t just be removed from the tournament. Their days of playing competitive Fortnite as a whole are over. Not to mention their prize money has been donated to charity. How widespread is FNCS cheating though and how did they get this far?

FNCS Cheater Caught
A day after the FNCS Major 1 for 2025 concluded, Epic dropped details on someone caught cheating. But they weren’t cheating at the most recent FNCS. Instead, they did it last year. Actually, making it to Grands utilizing cheating software! It’s crazy they managed to get so far, but action has now been taken.
The player has been banned permanently from Fortnite tournaments. They’ll never be able to take part in any form of Fortnite esports in the future. Their also had their prize money donated to charity, which is a nice gesture.
The player even ended up posting a statement regarding the cheating. It’s a big case, but FNCS cheating is really just the tip of the iceberg. Epic has been taking a lot of action on FNCS cheaters in recent months. They started with cutting back the tournament offerings to make it harder for cheaters to get prize money. Which is frustrating for players who are still up and coming, looking for initial earnings, since these tournaments were often the smaller ones.
They’ve also stepped up their actions to find and ban cheaters. This most recent case FNCS cheating is the highest profile in quite a while though. It’s a bit surprising to see how far they managed to make it, but at least cheaters are receiving harsh punishments. It doesn’t seek like FNCS cheating by itself is all that common, but as this case shows there’s still some slipping through the cracks.
