Seong Gi-hun
The Protagonist’s Luck Is Bound To Run Out
- Debut: “Red Light, Green Light” (Season 1, Episode 1)
Seong Gi-hun is a brave protagonist who’s beloved by everyone. He’s been lucky time and time again, managing to win the first games and choosing to participate once again to stop this twisted event once and for all.
Given his status as the protagonist, he’s bound to remain alive until the very end of the series. However, the final episode would be a perfect point to shock viewers by killing him off for good, although it’s likely that he’ll probably achieve his goal at the cost of his life.

Kim Jun-hee
Her Weaknesses Will Be Exposed Sooner Rather Than Later
- Debut: “Bread and Lottery” (Season 2, Episode 1)
Despite her pregnancy, Kim Jun-hee has made a valiant effort to survive by making the right allies. She has found many friends in the games who are willing to look out for her instead of treating her like a liability.
However, it’s only a matter of time before she faces a level of adversity that will be downright impossible to overcome. Her death will be shocking yet expected, given how stronger and more important characters have bitten the dust in the series already.

Lee Myung-gi
MG Coin Has Been Lucky Numerous Times, But He Can Only Survive For So Long
- Debut: “Bread and Lottery” (Season 2, Episode 1)
MG Coin’s poor advice led to a lot of people losing their hard-earned money, causing him to become a villain in the eyes of several dangerous people. This includes Thanos and his friend Nam-gyu, who were on the verge of killing this online personality before the rapper was eventually taken out with a well-placed stab to the neck.

Hwang In-ho
The Front Man’s Karma Will Eventually Catch Up To Him
- Debut: “Red Light, Green Light” (Season 1, Episode 1)
The Front Man of the killing games won the very first edition and has run things behind the scenes ever since. He’s a diabolical villain who decided to become Player 001 in Season 2, befriending Gi-hun and fooling everyone.
His double agent tactics turned out to be fruitful as he stifled a possible coup, but it’s only a matter of time before karma catches up to him. Both his brother and the protagonist will find it hard to forgive him for his ruthless actions, and fans can only wonder about the nature of his demise in Season 3.
4
Cho Hyun-ju
She’s Too Resourceful And Will Become A Target In The Third Season
- Debut: “001” (Season 2, Episode 3)
One of the most riveting characters in Season 2, Cho Hyun-ju was the focal point in the coup, showing off her skills with a weapon. Unfortunately, the lack of ammo doomed the rebellion, and she was forced to surrender after the guards caught up to her.
Given how competent she is, the people running the games probably wouldn’t want her to survive for too long. She’ll likely become a target who must fight against all odds to survive, but death will eventually arrive for her if she bites off more than she can chew.

Park Yong-sik
His Foolhardy Nature Will Spell Trouble For Him Later On
- Debut: “001” (Season 2, Episode 3)
One of the most frustrating characters to watch in Season 2, Park Yong-sik, is a selfish character whose greed results in him voting to continue the games. However, he sees the light after almost losing his mother during the game of Mingle.

Jang Geum-ja
The Mother Almost Died During The Mingle Game, And She Can Only Have So Many Close Shaves
- Debut: “001” (Season 2, Episode 3)
Jang Geum-ja is an elderly woman who is bound to be a liability during the physically intense games in this twisted competition. While she has made valuable allies who have helped her out more often than not, it’s only a matter of time before she falls behind.
Her death, if it happens, will be quite traumatic for Yong-sik, who will rue the day he voted to keep the games going. While fans will hope that they survive, it’s hard to imagine this actually happening given how quickly and shockingly fan-favorite characters have died in Squid Game.
1
Kang Dae-ho
His Cowardly Attitude Will Come Back To Bite Him
- Debut: “001” (Season 2, Episode 3)
A major reason why the coup failed is because of Kang Dae-ho’s cowardice. The shootout triggered some form of PTSD, preventing him from pulling his weight and bringing back the ammo that the contestants needed to survive.
He refused to put himself in harm’s way and doomed everyone in the process. It was a cowardly act that will make his death quite satisfying to witness in Season 3 when this moment eventually arrives.
