AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT price could match Nvidia RTX 5070 Ti, new leak suggests

Both the AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT and RX 9070 gaming GPUs are set to be unveiled in just a few weeks’ time, but new leaked pricing data for both cards could leave some gamers disappointed. According to several leaked Amazon screenshots, the new AMD graphics card could launch with a price that is at least several hundred dollars higher than previously reported, potentially putting it in direct competition with the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 Ti.

If this turns out to be true, it might make it harder for AMD to succeed in its battle to offer the best graphics card for the average gamer. We’re expecting the new RX 9070 XT GPU to compete with the RTX 5070 on performance, but with that card expected to launch with a $549 MSRP, it could be tough for AMD to gain traction with gamers unless performance of its new card is more closely matched to the RTX 5070 Ti instead.

Leaked AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT and RX 9070 pricing

Several online sources, including known hardware leaker momomo_us, have released screenshots, reportedly from Amazon, showing leaked pricing for AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT and RX 9070 graphics cards manufactured by XFX. A screenshot shared in a report by Videocardz in particular shows four RX 9070 XT cards and one RX 9070, with prices ranging from $649.99 to $849.99.

$649 for the non-XT RX 9070 would place it $100 higher in price than the base model RTX 5070’s expected MSRP, while $749 for a base model RX 9070 XT matches it directly against the RTX 5070 Ti. That’s also $200-300 more than previous RX 9070 XT price rumors suggested would be the case.

It’s important to stress that this pricing data hasn’t been confirmed, and it’s quite possible these prices are just from placeholder listings, where retailers put pricing and specs data on its store pages ahead of an official launch. We’ve seen this on multiple occasions when searching for RTX 5090 stock and RTX 5080 stock, with the likes of overclockers.co.uk also having placeholder listings for RTX 5070 stock with ludicrously high prices of £9,000 ($11,350).

Regardless, if these leaks are a fair reflection of future RX 9070 pricing and AMD is putting its card in direct competition with the RTX 5070 Ti, it would be a bold move, but much will depend on how well this AMD GPU actually performs in the real world.

We won’t know for sure until February 20, when AMD plans to officially launch its new AMD Radeon 9000 series GPUs. On this date, we expect to see official confirmation of both the pricing and specs for the RX 9070 XT and the RX 9070. We’ll also been reviewing the card’s performance ourselves as soon as possible.

Until then, you can check out our RX 9070 XT guide for everything we know so far about this new AMD graphics card. Don’t forget to check out our RTX 5090 review to see how Nvidia’s new flagship card performs in the real world, too, although we’re not expecting the RX 9070 XT to offer the same level of performance as the 5090.
