Best Sonic The Hedgehog Co-Op Games, Ranked
Co-op has been a staple feature of many Sonic games for decades now. These examples are the best of the bunch.
While Sonic Team Racing, the previous racing game in the series, contained a substantial roster of recognizable characters, CrossWorlds is looking more like a grand celebration of the series with how massive the cast is seemingly going to be. To avoid fans having to dig back through the trailer to spot everyone, this list will cover the characters who are now confirmed to be playable in the game thanks to the recent trailers and will primarily focus on the most exciting and surprising members of the cast, so will forgo obvious entries like the blue hedgehog himself.
Eggman Isn’t The Only Villain Getting Behind The Wheel
Metal Sonic has shown up in his fair share of spin-off games, and he’s back again to reign terror, this time, from behind the wheel. Ever since this metallic mimic of the Blue Blur showed up in Sonic CD, he’s been a playable character in quite a few racing games, and even a few fighters too. Therefore, there’s always a good chance he makes it into a new entry, whether it be a mainline game or a spin-off, so it makes sense why he’s back again to burn some rubber in CrossWorlds.
It seems that for CrossWorlds, there’s no restriction on the number of bad guys that can show up. As a result, Metal Sonic could end up being just one of many antagonists to appear, but considering how immensely popular he is, especially when the new Sonic movie releases in a few years, it’ll still be a blast to take him out for a spin.

Big The Cat
Big Takes Some Time Out Of His Fishing Schedule To Show His Fellow Racers How It’s Done
It’s hard not to love Big the Cat, but in all honesty, this ally of Sonic’s isn’t exactly the most active guy out there. In the majority of the games he appears in, Big can usually be found sitting back and relaxing while catching a few fish with his friend Froggy. With that said, though, there have been a few occasions where he has shown up to prove that he has what it takes to win a race; something he’ll be doing once again in CrossWorlds.

8 Forgotten Sonic The Hedgehog Games
Despite Sonic being such a popular game franchise, these entries have almost been completely forgotten about for one reason or another.
He may now have joined Sonic and the crew for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, but Big will be making a return for CrossWorlds, though whether Froggy will be by his side as he cruises around each track, only time will tell.

Silver The Hedgehog
The Time-Traveling Hedgehog Returns To Cause Mischief On The Tracks
Unlike the majority of the Sonic cast, Silver isn’t a character who appeared in the 90s or during the early era of the franchise. Instead, he made his debut in the infamous Sonic 06, but despite the reception that the game received, Silver has become a character who many fans have come to love due to his unique powers and otherworldly design.
This has meant Silver has been thrown in as a playable character for numerous spin-offs, and CrossWorlds is looking to continue that trend. Hopefully, Silver can have some banter with Sonic and Blaze during the races, as it’s always nice to see this hedgehog get a rare opportunity to highlight his close bonds with his friends.

Cream The Rabbit
Cream Is Usually Skipped Over With The Racing Games, But She’s Partaking In The Chaos For The Latest Installment
Cream is in a fairly unique position in the Sonic franchise. While she’s definitely still a recognizable member of the cast, when a game is running out of character space, Cream is often the one who misses out, especially when it comes to the racers. However, she has been spotted in the trailers for CrossWorld cruising around in a small light-orange mini-kart, and of course, she also has her Chao to accompany her along the way.
While Team Sonic Racing allowed players to control a group of Chao who were all able to hop into a Chao Pod, Cream was a glaring omission from the roster, considering most of the other main characters were included. It’s therefore nice to see her making a return, since if she didn’t come back this time, it would feel like Sonic Team has something against Sonic’s kind and caring comrade.

E-123 Omega
Eggman’s Revenge-Fueled Robot Will No Doubt Be A Real Thorn In The Doctor’s Side
For any fans unfamiliar with the menacing robot known as E-123 Omega, this is one of Eggman’s many robots who was locked away in a capsule to act as a guardian for Shadow the Hedgehog. Feeling that his potential has been wasted, Omega seeks revenge on the Doctor, and though he hasn’t been able to fulfill his mission just yet, he may get his chance in the latest game, where he once again makes an appearance.
Since Omega isn’t hugely important to the lore of Sonic and is also a fairly niche member of the roster, it’s usually hit or miss whether this guy will make it into a new installment. After making a surprise appearance in Shadow Generations as an NPC in the overworld though, the Omega hype train continues.
3
Vector The Crocodile
Vector Takes The Driver’s Seat As The Representative Of Team Chaotix
He may be one of the biggest characters in the franchise, but Vector is still more than happy to fit himself inside a kart to partake in a race alongside his friends, so long as he gets paid for it, that is. Though Vector is more of an obscure character in the series who first made his debut in Knuckles’ Chaotix back in 1995, Sonic Team has gradually been making him more of a regular member of the cast, especially in the spin-off games.

Sonic: Best Quotes From The Movies, Ranked
The Sonic movies feature some amazing characters who are constantly producing hilarious and poignant moments with their unforgettable quotes.
Since it’s still unclear whether Espio and Charmy will be in the game, it means Vector may be the sole representative of Team Chaotix who will be tasked with proving to other racers what the group is truly made of. If those two do manage to secure their slots though, there’s no doubt that they’ll be having a ton of hilarious conversations while trying to reach the finish line.
2
Sage
After Debuting In Sonic Frontiers, Sage Is Finally Becoming A Playable Character
Many fans presumed that Sage would only be a one-off character who wouldn’t be seen again after the events of Sonic Frontiers, which is why it’s such a pleasant surprise that she’s made it into CrossWorlds as a racer. Though Sage is seen for much of Frontiers as the villain, it’s soon revealed that this immensely powerful, but also lonely entity is a lot more complex than Sonic and his pals had initially realized.
She goes through quite the hellish ordeal in that game, but now that Sage is in full control, and can be her own person, it will no doubt make her a real force to be reckoned with on the tracks. That dark and glossy design of her kart is also a real feast for the eyes, and will no doubt see her become incredibly popular as a result.
1
Jet The Hawk
A Fan-Favorite Who Hasn’t Been Seen Since The Riders Trilogy Of Games
If anyone from the series’ past deserves to come back for a racing entry, it deserves to be Jet; the leader of the Babylon Rogues who acted as Sonic’s rival throughout the Riders trilogy. In keeping with those games, Jet is only shown to be using his Extreme Gear board in the trailer, even while every other racer uses their karts, which would make him a pretty unique character to play.
Despite how popular Jet has become among the fanbase thanks to his witty personality, alongside his unexplored backstory, the last time he was playable was Sonic Free Riders back in 2010. Thankfully, Sonic Team didn’t forget about Jet, and after 15 years, the bad-mouthed plucky hawk is returning to the tracks to try and embarrass Sonic once again.
