Dawnshore is the first main region you’ll visit in Avowed, and here’s how you can fully explore its Pargun Cache.
However, once you get to the late game where you find a couple of weapons that suit your vibe, you’ll consistently have to grind and get these upgrade items to upgrade your favorite gear, and here’s how you can do that.
How To Get Every Type Of Upgrade Item In Avowed
While the upgrade system in Avowed isn’t super intricate and immersive, it’s also not completely straightforward since you have a range of items that you have to get based on what you want to upgrade. Here are all types of upgrade items you’ll find in the game:
Herb |
This will be the most sought-after upgrade item no matter the tier of your items since every gear in the game requires these for upgrades. You can only get so many herbs, so it’s important to be selective with what you decide to upgrade. |
---|---|
Wood |
These items are used to mainly upgrade all the wooden items like shields, wands, and bows. |
Metal |
You’ll be using different rarities of metal to upgrade your swords, daggers, maces, and all other melee weapons in the game. |
Armor Material |
As the name suggests, the skin-type materials will be used whenever you’re upgrading your armor. |
Adra |
Finally, if you’re taking any item from one tier to the next, you’ll be consuming a set amount of Adra. |
Each gear needs to be leveled up three times in a particular tier before you can move to the next one.
You can upgrade all the unique gear to the Legendary tier, but some of the normal gear can only be upgraded to a certain tier.
Even though you have five tiers for each type of upgrade item in the game, the method to acquire them remains the same throughout. The only difference is the location where you’ll find these items since that depends on the tier. Here’s how you can get each upgrade item:
- Herbs can be acquired by visiting various Herb spots, opening chests, and browsing trader’s wares in their respective areas.
- You can get the metal, wood, and armor upgrade items by opening the chests in the respective area and looking at armor or weapon traders around the land. You can also acquire these by breaking down respective gear.
- Finally, you can get Adra by getting some of the secret chests around respective areas and buying them from specific traders. Different types of Adra can also be acquired by breaking down the unique weapons and armor that you get through exploration.
Generally, you can get all the common tier of items in Dawnshore, fine in Emerald Stairs, exceptional in Shatterscarp, superb in Galawain’s Tusk, and legendary in The Garden. However, you can find some higher-tier metal, wood, and armor in lower-tier areas in the parts where you find high-level enemies.
