Summary

  • There’s a bounty out for any Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero modder with enough skills to make a mini version of Super Saiyan 4 Goku a thing.
  • Previously, modders got to work right away on a Super Saiyan 3 Vegeta mod following his debut in Dragon Ball Daima.
  • The anime project will have two DLC packs dedicated to it, but fans aren’t too keen on waiting.

Massive spoilers for Dragon Ball Daima Episode 18 “Awakening” to follow.

Well folks, they finally did it. After over 28 years of being considered a non-canon transformation, Dragon Ball Daima, the last official work of the late Akira Toriyama, has officially made Super Saiyan 4 a canon part of Goku’s long list of powerups.

With Episode 18 having aired yesterday on Valentine’s Day, the fan-favorite form is now as official as it gets. While the collective Internet celebrated the monumental reveal, a pack of dedicated Dragon Ball: Sparking! Zero fans have issued a bounty.

The challenge? Make Mini Super Saiyan 4 Goku an in-game mod. As of this writing, that challenge has not been completed, though things could change quickly.

Sparking Zero’s first DLC pack is pricey, but its new batch of perfectly-realised characters from Super-Hero make it a treat for fans.

Super Saiyan 3 Vegeta Also Had A Similar Call

Beyond making Super Saiyan 4 canon, Daima also managed to give Vegeta a Super Saiyan 3 transformation — something fans thought would never happen.

Naturally, fans wanted that transformation added to the game, and some expert modders quickly got to work. It wasn’t too long after the Prince of Saiyans debuted his new form that fans managed to add it to the game, complete with the weirdly-specific upward-spiking hair.

It’s important to note that Daima will make up not just one but two DLC packs for Sparking! Zero. While Mini Goku was revealed as a preorder bonus, Mini Vegeta has already been confirmed to be part of the next wave of DLC. In other words, an official release of Super Saiyan 3 seems fairly likely. The same can likely be said of Super Saiyan 4 Goku (Mini), especially given that the regular form of Super Saiyan 4 is already a base roster character.

Of course, patience is a virtue, and for fans who’ve waited nearly three decades to see Super Saiyan 4 get the respect it deserves, there’s no such thing as waiting. Time to get to work, modders.
