Reddit user Jxnior_ recently shared a No Man’s Sky clip highlighting their experience after destroying a single trade ship. The video begins with the trade ship being taken down by the player’s Starship and its weaponry. The gamer then turns their vehicle to face the wreckage, and what appears to be hundreds of interceptors are flying out of it, most of which immediately attack their Starship. Before this onslaught, the player’s ship had just over three-quarters of its health bar, and by the end, it was below half health. Notably, the screen fills with No Man’s Sky Sentinel Interceptors and their return fire, resembling something out of the Star Wars prequel trilogy.
This No Man’s Sky Act of Piracy Took a Dangerous Turn
The user interface also confirms that the player lost standing with the No Man’s Sky Gek due to the destroyed trader vessel. The UI also confirms this attack on the trading vessel is part of the Acts of Piracy quest, which tasks them with destroying hostile trade ships. According to Jxnior_, the enemy ships kept spawning as they defeated them, making it an endless battle. This result of their act of piracy showed them why they should equip the Emergency Warp Module to their Starship for potentially dangerous encounters in the future. The indicator includes a warning that Sentinel Interceptors will be alerted by the piracy, but it seemingly underestimates just how many may attack the player at once.
Although the clip concludes before the player escapes or is defeated, it’s unlikely that they could defeat all the hostile targets that attacked them. As Hello Games continues to update No Man’s Sky, these high-stakes moments could become more common for players seeking them out.
