Thanks to the long-awaited release of Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero last year, 2024 was a monumental time for anime games. While it’s going to be incredibly tough to beat the launch of the fourth Budokai Tenkaichi game, 2025 looks like it’s going to put up quite a fight, as there are already a few anticipated releases.

Hunter X Hunter: Nen X Impact Is Launching July 17
Yesterday, EVO hosted an award show to honour fighting games, as well as make a few announcements. One of those announcements was that Hunter x Hunter: Nen x Impact will be launching later this year on July 17, following it previously being pushed out of its planned 2024 window.
While it’s already good news to know when the next big anime game of the year will release, the new trailer also confirmed that Nen x Impact will have at least one season pass that adds four new fighters to the game. The first of those fighters was revealed to be Nephelpito, who will be arriving in Fall 2026.
We don’t know who any of the other DLC fighters are going to be just yet, but release windows have already been confirmed, with the second fighter coming in Winter 2025, the third in Spring 2026, and the fourth and seemingly final fighter arriving in Summer 2026. The trailer does refer to the pass as “Season Pass 1”, so perhaps more is in store for the future.
