Imu’s devil fruit might not be a secret anymore. Oda gave a major hint about his powers in One Piece.
With a legendary figure now having entered the scene, fans are extremely excited and looking forward to a big battle that’s about to unfold in Aurust Castle. At the same time, Shamrock Figarland is likely to make his move in One Piece 1140, given that he didn’t feature in the previous chapter at all. And of course, Oda is bound to throw in one or two surprises in the story, as he always does, which makes for a very exciting phase in the story. All this and much more is set to be tackled in One Piece chapter 1140.
Luffy, Zoro, and Nami Vs Scopper Gaban Begins
- Luffy Needs To Secure The Key To Loki’s Chains
- Gaban Stands In His Path
One Piece Chapter 1140 will most definitely give fans a glimpse of the incredible battle between Luffy and Scopper Gaban. In the previous chapter of the story, Scopper Gaban finally made his introduction, and it was clear for the fans to see that he’s a very powerful individual, even though he’s quite old right now. Gaban was described to be a legendary fighter stronger than even the Giants, and more than that, he’s said to be a pirate on the same level as Roger and Rayleigh. This is extremely interesting and actually a very good decision by Oda. Not only does it hype up Gaban, but it actually does so in order to have Luffy tested by the Pirate King himself. Gaban being on the same level as Roger and Rayleigh essentially means that this is Luffy’s true test in front of the Pirate King and his two strongest men themselves. While Rayleigh has trained Luffy, he hasn’t tested him at the highest level, and that’s Gaban’s job.
Secrets are made to be spread, young missy! — Scopper Gaban
One Piece chapter 1140 will see Luffy fight against Gaban, but one absolutely must not forget the role of Zoro and Nami. Given that both of them are most definitely weaker than Gaban, it’ll be interesting to see what role they play here. Scopper Gaban could easily be handling all three at once, despite being way past his prime, but at the end of the day, the goal isn’t to defeat him. This isn’t an all-out battle and even though Luffy and Zoro might be tapping into their best transformations, Gaban only wants to test if they’re worthy or not.
They simply have to impress him, and at the same time, manage to snatch the key from him. If Gaban isn’t going all out, this should be doable, to say the least.
Luffy’s Gear 5 And Gaban’s Haki
Scopper Gaban Could Show His Monstrous Haki
One thing that fans should absolutely keep in mind regarding One Piece chapter 1140 is that Luffy cannot take the key from Gaban without going all out. Luffy is strong, and there is absolutely no denying that. At his best, he might be stronger than Gaban, but unless he’s at his best, he’s not going to get past the left hand of the Pirate King. Gaban isn’t just any left-hand man either. He’s hyped up as a rival to Rayleigh and a pirate in the same class as the likes of Roger and Rayleigh. In other words, this is Luffy’s battle against the likes of Roger, Rayleigh, Garp, Sengoku, and the other legends of the former era, albeit at an older age beyond their primes. Yet, Od has shown time and again that the old characters in his stories are absolute monsters.
If you want to get the key, you’ll have to get past me first. — Scopper Gaban
As such, fans should fully expect Luffy to go Gear 5 in OP chapter 1140. If he doesn’t use it in the upcoming chapter, he will most definitely utilize it in the chapter after. This is the bare minimum for Luffy to be able to beat Gaban.
Meanwhile, Zoro should be using his best abilities to force Gaban to drop the keys, but he’s not on the same level yet, so the fight will likely see Luffy take a central role.
At the same time, Scopper Gaban himself isn’t one to be underestimated. Fans should fully expect him to utilize his abilities. Now, this depends on one big thing, and that’s whether Scopper Gaban will be using his axes or not. In the previous chapter, Gaban was seen wielding just the key. If he battles using the key, then he obviously can’t go all out and he’ll most definitely not be at his best. But, if he’s wielding his axes, then Luffy and Zoro need to be careful.

One Piece: Oda Could Reveal Sanji’s Conqueror’s Haki Soon
Sanji’s Conqueror’s Haki will most likely be revealed in the Final Saga of One Piece.
One Piece chapter 1140 could show fans a glimpse of Scopper Gaban’s Conqueror’s Haki, provided he goes all out. While the three big fighters will likely take center stage, fans should keep an eye on Nami. She’s the cat burglar, and if anyone is worthy of stealing the key from Gaban, it is her. While Luffy and Zoro keep Gaban busy with their attacks, it is likely going to be Nami who takes the key from him soon enough, possibly even in One Piece chapter 1140.
Shamrock Manages To Summon Another Holy Knight
Shamrock Figarland Is Expected To Move Soon
In the previous chapter of One Piece, Shamrock Figarland was nowhere to be seen. As such, fans should expect to see him in One Piece chapter 1140. Shamrock intends to call in another member of the Holy Knights to Elbaf, and doing so is absolutely necessary for him, especially when taking into consideration the fact that they’re just two against a whole country with a Yonko crew. OP 1140 will likely see Shamrock summon his third Holy Knight.
Meanwhile, fans could also be seeing yet another major development in the story, and that is the Walrus School being attacked by Gunko. This could be a kidnapping that was previously spoken of by Shamrock Figarland. All the peace-loving kids of the new generation will likely be kidnapped, except for Collun, who is likely going to be playing a massive role in their rescue later down the line.
Things are looking incredibly exciting in One Piece, and fans are on the edge of their seats to see what Oda will deliver this week. From here onwards, One Piece should enjoy a run of 3 chapters, at the very least.
One Piece is available to read via Viz Media. The series can be read by the fans officially and for free on the Shonen Jump and the Manga Plus apps. The release date for the next chapter of One Piece, One Piece 1140, is set to be February 23, 2025.
