GTA 6 was originally announced for the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S in early December 2023. Take-Two interactive later revealed that the game was targeting a fall 2025 launch. That time might come sooner than expected, as recently suggested by Ronald van Veen, the finance VP at PC component manufacturer Corsair Gaming. Speaking during the company’s latest earnings call, the executive predicted that the GTA 6 PC version may only be months behind its console counterparts. “My understanding now it’s [sic] going to come out in the fall for console, and then early 2026 for PC,” van Veen remarked, according to Seeking Alpha‘s transcript of the February 12 call.
Early 2026 Is an Optimistic Release Window for GTA 6 PC Port
In early February 2025, Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick suggested that GTA 6 will eventually land on PC, highlighting Rockstar’s long-standing track record of prioritizing consoles with its AAA releases. However, Zelnick provided no concrete details about the PC port’s potential release date. Based on historical trends, an early 2026 launch seems highly optimistic, especially since every 3D entry in the GTA franchise has taken over six months to reach PC after its console debut. Most recently, PC gamers waited a year and seven months for GTA 5.

Rockstar’s latest original big-budget open-world action adventure, Red Dead Redemption 2, also took over a year to reach PC following its console release. As a result, the chances of the GTA 6 PC port materializing in early 2026 appear dubious, at best, even though van Veen seems to believe otherwise. The Corsair executive did not elaborate on the reasons behind his optimistic release window forecast.
Assuming GTA 6 remains on track for a fall 2025 launch, its release date is likely to be announced no later than summer, providing Rockstar with at least a few months to rack up pre-orders. The game is expected to receive several more trailers, including a gameplay deep dive, prior to its market debut. Neither Take-Two nor Rockstar have yet mentioned anything in the way of GTA 6 pricing information. Multiple editions of the much-anticipated game are expected to be available at launch.
