FromSoftware is looking into another Elden Ring Nightreign Network Test after an ill-fated first attempt. Widespread server issues prevented a large portion of players from delving into the inaugural Elden Ring Nightreign Network Test, prompting FromSoftware to consider a second one to make up for the rocky effort.
Scheduled to launch on May 30, Elden Ring Nightreign is a co-op multiplayer spin-off of FromSoftware’s hugely successful Elden Ring. In line with modern FromSoftware titles, Elden Ring Nightreign recently held a closed Network Test that was supposed to allow a select few players to explore a limited portion of the game’s new content. Upon the commencement of the Elden Ring Nightreign Network Test, though, players quickly found themselves facing major login issues. Many were unable to connect at all, while others found themselves booted from the game after failing to match with other players.

FromSoftware May Hold Another Elden Ring Nightreign Network Test
FromSoftware attempted to intervene with a mid-session server maintenance update, but unfortunately, this did little to alleviate the Elden Ring Nightreign Network Test’s problems. Players had hoped that the studio might extend the Network Test as compensation, but instead, it ended at its originally scheduled time. Shortly after, the official Elden Ring Twitter account acknowledged the situation, apologized for the inconvenience, and confirmed that the developers were actively working on improving server stability. More importantly, FromSoftware revealed that it’s considering scheduling an additional Elden Ring Nightreign Network Test to give players another shot at properly experiencing the game.
The first Elden Ring Nightreign Network Test was steeped in misfortune and incited lots of complaints from the community, so a second test feels warranted to help restore confidence and ensure that players get the experience they were promised. The hype around Elden Ring Nightreign is immense, and a successful Network Test could be crucial in setting the stage for the game’s full launch this coming May.
