Technically not wholly co-operative, Crawl is a classic dungeon-crawler that pits three players against one. With one player taking control of the hero and the others a variety of monsters, Crawl is centered around a truly unique dynamic that blends teamwork with PvP.
What makes this interesting is that, although each monster player is attempting to claim a kill on the current hero, they often have to work together in order to bring them down. Combined with simple controls and stripped-back mechanics, Crawl is a lightweight dungeon-crawler that’s approachable in a variety of ways and designed for chaotic couch co-op.

The multitasking and quick-thinking required in Unrailed creates constantly chaotic scenarios that are often hysterical in nature, making it a perfect game for couch co-op. Furthermore, while it’s certainly a challenge to succeed, Unrailed’s accessible controls keep it friendly to casual gamers.

Despite its bare-bones narrative and admittedly formulaic gameplay, Shredder’s Revenge manages to feel fresh and engaging. This is thanks in large part to its stylish presentation and fluid controls, but most obvious is the passion its developers clearly have for the source material. In keeping with the spirit of TMNT, Shredder’s Revenge is an experience that’s friendly to even the most casual of players, and it can be played with up to six players.

There’s no doubt that Overcooked excels with its local co-op, especially with higher player counts. More players often results in more chaos, and managing a larger team in dynamic kitchen scenarios under constant time pressure often leads to hysterics.
