Three years after it came out in Japan, The Legend of Heroes: Trails Through Daybreak 2 is finally available in English. The JRPG sequel has been unavailable in the west for quite some time, but now you can finally play it via a PC-enhanced version with plenty of extra bells and whistles. So if you’ve been looking for a new world to get lost in, this version of Trails Through Daybreak 2 is the place to do it.
The people of Calvard have been rocked by a series of murders, and a mysterious crimson beast appears to be at the heart of the grizzly crimes. This is where you come in to The Legend of Heroes: Trails Through Daybreak 2, as you lace up the shoes of Van Arkride, who’s decided to investigate the killings for himself. With plenty of JRPG factions trying to find out just what’s going on, it’s up to you (and Arkride) to get to the bottom of it first.
Trails Through Daybreak 2 also builds on the previous game’s blend of field and command battles, with some new mechanics thrown in to spice things up. You also don’t need to worry too much about being in the know on the Trails series, with plenty of new characters making it easier than ever to dive in. You’ll also be glad to hear that the new PC version comes with an array of unique features, making it the ideal way to play.

You can select a number of graphics options in Trails Through Daybreak 2, like shadow and rendering quality, configurable levels of detail and draw distance, and even control variable frame rates. There’s even asset caching for quick loading times, configurable multitasking behavior so you can decide how the game runs, a turbo mode and speedup option, and plenty of additional battle information. You can use a free look mouse mode with the camera, and much more. In short, this is the way to play Trails Through Daybreak 2.
