When and Where To Catch Crimsonfish in Stardew Valley
To catch a Crimsonfish
, you need to head to the ocean during the Summer season in Stardew Valley. It can be any time of day and any weather. You need to be at least Fishing Level 5 before you can catch Crimsonfish. If you’re not there yet, you can eat foods with a Fishing buff to help you level up faster.
Head to the far eastern end of the beach, located south of Pelican Town. You’ll need to repair the bridge there first for 300 wood. Next, cast your line into the water that’s at least four tiles away from any pieces of land, including the pier. If all of these conditions are met, there’s an 18% chance of catching a Crimsonfish with each cast.
If the bobber lands within Bubbles, the Crimsonfish can be caught even if the line is only three tiles away from land.
Like the other legendary fish, Crimsonfish is a challenging catch, but you can increase your chances of reeling it in from 18% to 25% by using a Curiosity Lure
. Besides this, you can buy Magic Bait from Qi’s Walnut Room (once unlocked) to catch Crimsonfish regardless of the current season.
Uses of Crimsonfish in Stardew Valley
Although fish aren’t generally considered ideal gifts in Stardew Valley, Crimsonfish can be a good way to get some extra gold. Their selling price varies based on their quality, as detailed in the table below.

You can also place one Crimsonfish in a Fish Pond and wait for it to produce Crimsonfish Roe (42% daily chance). Like regular fish, you can use Crimsonfish in cooking recipes like Maki Roll
