As Version 2.1 of Wuthering Waves hits servers, it brings players new quests, new storylines, and two additional regions. The Riccioli Islands and Vault Underground are two additions to the map in Rinascita, and the two of them are vastly different from each other. Unlike the free spirit that encapsulates the Riccioli Islands, Vault Underground has been said to imitate a prison.

Wuthering Waves: Old Man And The Whale Event Guide
Old Man and the Whale is a fishing event in Wuthering Waves that features plenty of limited-time rewards. Here’s what players need to know about it.
The location is underneath the Averardo Vault, and Wuthering Waves players can only unlock it by completing the Silent As A Falling Leaf Quest. This exploration quest is quite heavy in comparison to the other exploration quests in WuWa and requires a lot of running due to the numerous levels of Vault Underground.
How To Unlock Silent As A Falling Leaf Quest In Wuthering Waves
The quest officially kicks off when you receive a letter from Carlotta in your mail that states the situation at Averardo Vault. You can then head to the back entrance of Averardo Vault to kick-start the quest. You can either go to the teleport point at the front gate and click the option, which takes you to the back entrance, or you can head to the Flying Challenge near the back entrance and fly across. The quest will automatically start once you’re in the area, so just speak to Zani and follow the navigation.
There is a chance players may get locked out of the quest if they do not complete Ragunna Holiday. This is a side quest that involves Phoebe, and all you need to do is bypass the warnings and complete that first before starting this exploration quest.
How To Operate The Train Echo In Wuthering Waves
After heading down into the Vault, you’ll eventually meet Phoebe, and together with Zani, the three of you will need to ride the Train Echo toward the Precious Metals and Artworks Depository. You will automatically be equipped with the Clearance Device the moment you board the train, and each time the device recognizes a target on the track, shoot it to switch lanes. You need to do this immediately so that the train does not go the wrong way. Additionally, as the journey takes you to the area, remember to shoot the supply chests that will be scattered along the way for those extra gems.
How To Disable The Cameras And Open The Gate In Wuthering Waves
Once you reach the Precious Metals and Artworks Depository, you’ll need to fight the Vitreum Dancer guard before attempting anything else. Next, equip the clearance device from your utility belt and then press the device to activate it. Then, just use your Basic Attack to hit the targets, which are the cameras situated above you.
Remember not to step into the light of the camera as you do so, since this may alert more guards.
Follow through the quest navigation when you go inside and just play through the story until the next challenge.
Find A Way To The Security Room
The quest navigation will take you up the stairs in front of you, and as soon as you hit the second flight, the camera will switch on. Try and not get caught by jumping across the railing to the top floor instead. You can then turn around and aim the Clearance Device at the camera hanging from the chandelier. To unlock the first door, shoot the camera positioned directly opposite it. This will unlock the camera above the door, which you can then shoot to unlock the door.
Follow the navigation and head inside past all the enemies toward the next vault door at the end of the hall. There will be quite a few enemies to get rid of before the door automatically opens, and you can continue following the navigation. You’ll then have to use the Cuddly Wuddly’s Echo skill and jump across to the other side. Once you’re there, head up the stairs to your left and go all the way up. Keep following the navigation until you reach the Security Room.

Here’s how players can build Phoebe in Wuthering Waves for both of her playstyles.
How To Get To The Top-Level Security Room In Wuthering Waves
Afterward, you need to head to the Control Room to find the old lady. Head through the doors to your left and go inside to find two Vitreum Dancers. The trick here is that you can use the Clearance Device to control one of the Vitreum Dancers. Simply turn it on, and shoot one of the dancers. This will make them fight the other one, and if you want, you can join the fight to pass time faster. Once that’s done, the door on the left will open, and you’ll need to head down to the floor beneath you and do the same thing. You can only control one Vitreum Dancer here too, so make sure to help kill them to unlock the door in front.
You’ll now be in a new area with three Vitreum Dancers who will glide back and forth across the platforms. You can’t control these ones, and the only thing you can do here is watch for their attack patterns and dodge when they line up to dash. Avoid them as best as you can, then make your way to the other side of the room. Use the Clearance Device to shoot the cameras, and this will open the door. Keep heading straight inside until you reach another with the same challenge. Dodge all the Vitreum Dancers again and head for the elevator at the end of the corridor.
Now that you’re on the third floor of the Precious Metals and Artworks Depository, head inside and follow the navigation until you reach the missing collection. Keep following the navigation that takes you up to the fourth floor to meet an NPC. You can upgrade your Clearance Level here before heading outside to defeat the guards. Use the Clearance again to control one of the guards during the fight. Once you’re done, follow the navigation to the elevator and head down to the first floor.
Head To Echo Depository
Now that you’re done at the Precious Metals and Artworks Depository, you need to take the Echo Train to the Echo Depository. You’ll need to do the same here, shooting all the targets to switch lanes and grabbing the Supply Chests along the way. Once you’re there, head inside and control the Vitreum Dancer to help you fight against the bear. After that, use the Sensor in your utility belt to detect Ash’s whereabouts. You’ll find a book near a small coffee table on the ground floor.
After the cutscene, use the elevator in front of you and go up towards the next security room. There are a few cameras you’ll need to shoot along the way so that you don’t get caught. Once you’re at the security room, you’ll then need to navigate to the next room where you’ll need to defeat a couple of enemies.
Vitreum Dancer Challenge In Vault Underground 1
After defeating all the enemies, head down the passageway to find a Vitreum Dancer that you can control. Use the Clearance Device on it and wait for the blocks to ascend. Here’s how you can complete the challenge:
- Go left
- Go forward
- Go left
- Go forward
Once the Vitreum Dancer hits the camera spotlight, the room will change, and you can head to the next challenge.
Vitreum Dancer Challenge In Vault Underground 2
You’ll have the same challenge here after heading further inward. Here are the correct moves:
- Go forward
- Go right
- Go down
- Go left
- Go down
- Go left to reach the camera
Vitreum Dancer Challenge In Vault Underground 3
This is the last challenge before you reach the security room. Here are the correct moves:
- Go forward
- Go right
- Go forward
- Go left
- Go down
- Go left
- Go forward
Now that you’ve reached the designated area, defeat the Vitreum Dancers in the corridor until a short cutscene plays. You can then keep following the navigation until you finally reach the top level area where two enemies will be waiting. You can control one of them to help fight, and once that’s done, head inside the room to upgrade your Clearance again. Now that your Clearance has increased, you can control two Echoes at a time.

How To Go Deeper Into The Vault In Wuthering Waves
This part of the quest is where things get a little bit more intense. Keep following after the thief and take the Train Echo to the final part of Vault Underground. After the cutscene plays, you’ll need to explore further ahead, and since you can’t exactly climb any of the buildings, use the Cuddly Wuddly jumping ability to take you higher. Once done, move on ahead and follow the Phantom NPC toward the pages that you need to investigate. You can then keep following the NPC into the next room, defeat the guards, and keep going forward with it.
You’ll reach another door with a camera that will need to be shot with the Clearance Device. After doing so, head through the door and interact with the Phantom NPCs. This will eventually take you to another room with more enemies. You can use the Clearance Device here to shoot two enemies this time, and then head straight down the corridor to the next door. Shoot the cameras there as well to unlock it.
You need to first shoot the camera on the ground, then the one on the left, and finally the center one.
How To Unlock The Password Protected Door
Once you reach the new area, you’ll find a door to your left that needs to be unlocked. The password will already be given, but if you skipped the story, the password to open the door is 0622.
How To Defeat The Vault Guard In Wuthering Waves
Once you unlock the door, keep following the navigation and take the final train to the last area. This is the deepest part of Vault Underground, and once you enter the deepest part of the building, you’ll find a boss enemy that you need to fight. The enemy will be the Sentry Construct, and since you’ll have Phoebe on your team, the fight may be quite easy to complete. Just watch out for when it ascends into the air, as this makes it difficult to hit.
Once the cutscene ends, the quest will officially be complete, and you can obtain 40 Astrites and grab the chest toward the end.
