Things are most definitely going to be exciting as fans head into chapter week, and of course, all fans have their eyes on Luffy, who is going to face a legend of the old era. As was set up towards the end of the last chapter, Luffy and Gaban are going to fight, and it is going to be a special clash where three Straw Hats combine to take on a living legend and have their strength tested by him. This fight is going to be massive for more reasons than one, and fans will definitely get to see some incredible battle displays and stunning feats over the course of the chapter.

Luffy and Scopper Gaban are bound to fight in the upcoming chapter of One Piece, and this is a battle that Oda has set up in the story himself. Gaban is a monster in combat, and certainly someone who is deemed to be the same level of pirate as Roger and Rayleigh. In his prime, he should be Yonko tier, and right now, he’d be slightly weaker than that. But, his power level should be more than enough to match Luffy in battle. It must be remembered that the portrayal of Gaban is absolutely incredible. He’s a legendary monster who rivals Rayleigh in power and is a pirate of the same caliber as Roger. He is a living legend who knows the truth of the world and is easily among the most highly respected and feared individuals in the world. Most definitely, Oda will continue to hype him up throughout the course of the next few chapters and fans will definitely see Gaban show the next level of power soon.

Luffy, on the other hand, will finally be tested by a member of the Roger Pirates. Although Luffy has trained under Rayleigh, it’s very different to be taught by someone than to be tested by someone. Rayleigh is Luffy’s mentor, but Gaban is going to be the one who tests him. Given that Oda himself drew a comparison between Gaban and Rayleigh and even Roger, it would be as if Roger and Rayleigh themselves are testing Luffy right before he claims the One Piece and because of that reason this upcoming fight is going to be absolutely massive. Things are definitely going to heat up in the Aurust Castle soon and fans need to keep an eye on the events going forward.

Given the power level of Scopper Gaban, this is most definitely not going to be an easy fight for Luffy. Right now, Luffy is at the level of a Yonko, but Gaban should be comparable to him. It must be remembered that Blackbeard recently came face to face with Rayleigh and chose to not fight him. Even though Rayleigh admitted himself that he wouldn’t have been able to beat Teach, the fact is that he would’ve made things very difficult for Blackbeard. As such, the same logic should apply to Gaban. Their power level should be comparable, which means that Luffy will most definitely have to bring out his very best if he truly wants to beat the left arm of the Pirate King. Fans should fully expect Luffy to go Gear 5 in the battle, although it might not happen immediately after the fight begins.

More than that, one absolutely must not forget the other two members of the Straw Hat Pirates that are standing there. Zoro is not going to be a bystander in this fight, meaning that he’s going to be combining with Luffy to beat Scopper Gaban and win the key.

This makes things even more exciting, especially if both Luffy and Zoro launch powerful attacks at the former left hand of the Pirate King.

Luffy and His Group Might Secure The Key

There are two important things to take into consideration when speaking of the battle between Luffy, Zoro, Nami, and Scopper Gaban. The first thing is that this is a test, meaning Luffy absolutely cannot disappoint Gaban here. One way or another, Luffy must win this battle. The second thing to keep in mind is that if Luffy doesn’t get the key, which is the prize of impressing against Gaban, then Loki can’t be freed. This is very important for the plot overall, which means that it absolutely must happen. As such, it can be said already that Luffy and his group will succeed in taking the key from Gaban. But, the question remains as to how.

The answer to that question likely lies in none other than Nami. While Luffy and Zoro are going to be central to the upcoming chapters, neither of them is going to be strong enough to fight against Gaban and win easily. This is going to be a difficult battle even if they combine their powers. But, that is precisely where the Cat Burglar comes in. Nami is a thief and winning this battle doesn’t necessarily need strength. Gaban does want to test them, but the ultimate goal is to steal the key from him. As such, it is highly likely that while Luffy and Zoro keep Gaban busy, Nami will try to do her best and steal the key from him, and it is likely to happen.

Either that, or fans will likely see the fight get interrupted due to the arrival of the third Holy Knight in One Piece chapter 1140. If this is the case, then Gaban and Luffy will have to pause their battle and deal with the other problems, first of all.
