Red Dead Redemption 2: Chapter 3’s Missable Content

As Arthur Morgan and the Van der Linde gang head South into the state of Lemoyne, they are going to meet quite a few odd characters that might be easily susceptible to Dutch’s charm as they play the two feuding families of the Braithwaites and the Grays. Yet, things aren’t always so simple in Red Dead Redemption 2.

There’s quite a bit of missable content in Chapter 3 of Red Dead Redemption 2, and players are going to need to be aware of the things they can miss so that they can gather every collectible, complete every mission and activity, and experience RDR2 to the fullest extent possible.

Money Lending and Other Sins Part 4

Help Strauss Recover Even More Debts

• Gwyn Hughes – Rhodes’s Undertaker
• Winton Holmes – North Mountain of Strawberry

After successfully recovering the money from previous debtors in Money Lending and Other Sins in the Horseshoe Overlook Chapter 2, players can re-visit Strauss with new opportunities from within the latest camp at Clemens Point. This activity is only available in Chapter 3 and has Arthur venture out to complete two debtor activities.

The first, Gwyn Hughes, is found at the Undertaker in Rhodes and involves some unsavory business of digging up a corpse for cash, and the second is definitely one player won’t want to miss, as it has Arthur and Winton Holmes hunting a rare cougar with a white pelt, deep in its lair.

The Course of True Love, 1 to 3

Help Beau Gray and Penelope Braithwaite Resume Their Young Love

• Location: Caliga Hall, Lemoyne

Arthur Morgan is sent out to ride to Caliga Hall to try and uncover more about the Grays of Lemoyne, except what he runs into, is an 1899 version of Romeo and Juliette, since two of the youngest members of these rival families have fallen in love with each other, and Arthur can act as their guiding Cupid for a few missions more.

Players definitely need to complete The Course of True Love’s first three missions before A Short Walk in a Pretty Town for unspecified reasons that would delve into spoilers. While not the most intense and action-packed of missions, it is quite nice to see Arthur hold a heart for others.

Fishing with Kieran Duffy

A Companion Activity to Fish in Flat Iron Lake

There’s not a lot of love or trust in Kieran Duffy for the Van der Linde gang since he was an O’Driscoll once before. However, he did indeed save Arthur’s life, which is why Arthur should at least acknowledge Kieran’s presence and even join him for a wholesome fishing activity that takes the two to Radley’s Pasture.

While there is no fighting between the two during this fishing activity, it’s nice to relax with some bait and a fishing rod and enjoy the company of someone who clearly isn’t built for the outlaw life, and it may even teach Arthur a few things about fishing and Kieran.

Home Robbery with Sean MacGuire

Rob the Drunken Train Robbers at Lonnie’s Shack

Sean brings forth a fairly decent lead that has Arthur and himself venture out to Lonnie’s Shack in search of some money, all due to the fact that some train robbers have held up here and decided to indulge in alcohol, making for an easy opportunity for Sean and Arthur to attack and loot the place.

However, it’s vital that players keep one man alive so that they can be threatened to where the cash is. Otherwise, players are going home empty-handed and caked in blood, whereas if they interrogate a living gang member, they can get a few dollars for their trouble.

Fishing with Javier Escuella

The Companion Activity That Teaches Arthur How to Fish Better

Javier is quite the talented man, with his vocals, guitar, and now his ability to fish. Luckily, he can teach Arthur the latter as the two head out to Ringneck Creek in search of some dinner. Arthur is always a doubter, but Javier has a few valuable lessons to teach about how to fish and what bait to use, which makes this mission worth it.

There’s no need for a six-shooter in this mission, as it just involves the duo heading out to a delicate pond in search of fish, but it’s still a wholesome activity that further bonds the members of the Van der Linde gang together.

Coach Robbery with Bill Williamson

Rob an Armored Banking Coach With Bill and Tilly’s Companion Activity

There’s a Boles Overland banking coach heading through Dewberry Creek that Bill Williamson really wants to hit. It’s a stagecoach with plenty of money, and an opportunity to see Tilly in action, and to see how annoyingly prejudiced and rough-headed Bill actually is.

Bill can be pretty offensive, which is why when he’s awkward about his behavior he just decides to shoot up the stage coach. It’s a pretty good score which sees Arthur claim just under $100 for himself, and it’s always fun to ride as an outlaw.

Coach Robbery with Sean MacGuire

Loot a Stage Coach With Sean and Mary-Beth in This Companion Activity

Sean MacGuire might never bring the best or most frequent leads when it comes to stealing cash for the Van der Linde gang, but he does know how to put on a party. Sean is waiting for Arthur at Clemens Point with a new opportunity to rob a stagecoach, and this one even requires that of Mary-Beth.

This activity must be completed before Micah’s mission, Blessed are the Peacemakers, and it’s quite the fun one too since it involves a duo of characters that are rarely seen interacting with each other. Plus, the score is quite nice, as Arthur will net himself around $55.

Chapter 3’s Camp Activities

Play Dominoes with Tilly & Five Finger Fillet with Micah

Camp Activities are a nice way for Arthur to enjoy the peace and quiet of camp, while still engaging with the gang members that he calls family. Occasionally in Clemens Point, Micah can be found with a knife, which is the perfect way to school him in a game of Five Finger Fillet and watch him mess up and stab himself on accident.

Meanwhile, a calmer game can be played with Tilly Jackson, where Arthur can engage in a few games of Dominoes to simply enjoy her company and get away from all the noise and fuss of Braithwaites and Grays.
