An artistically talented and prolific Pokemon fan artist is catching the attention of literally thousands of fellow Pokemon fans thanks to their impressive artwork of a mecha version of Vaporeon. While a favorite among many longtime fans of the franchise in its regular form, this mecha Vaporeon seems to be leaving an impression on quite an above-average number of fans, and is the latest in what seems to be an ongoing series of mecha versions of different Pokemon.
One of Eevee’s potential final evolutions – alongside Jolteon, Flareon, Espeon, Umbreon, Leafeon, Glaceon, and Sylveon – Vaporeon is a pure Water-type introduced as part of Pokemon‘s very first generation. Easily identifiable by its neck frills and two-tone blue coloring, this particular Eeveelution seems to be a favorite among its other possible forms, and thanks to Vaporeon’s addition to Pokemon TCG Pocket, will likely only increase in popularity.

The impressive mecha version of Vaporeon comes from prolific Pokemon fan artist Xezeno, aka shunixe, who posted their mechanized re-imagining of the Eeveelution to one of the major Pokemon pages on forum website Reddit. The artist excels at striking a balance between keeping Vaporeon’s signature features largely intact, while still adding plenty of metallic design tweaks and details which clearly illustrate that this is a mecha version of the Pokemon. The artwork appears to use almost the exact same face as the same artist’s mecha Eevee artwork, with the remainder of the piece having its own unique design.
The mecha Vaporeon is clearly a hit among Pokemon fans on the site, with the artwork racking up an astounding 11,000 upvotes within just a few hours of being posted. Xezeno is one of the more prolific creators of this particular art style of Pokemon fan art, with the same person making headlines for mecha versions of Skarmory, Mew, Pikachu, Koraidon, Raging Bolt, and more. The artist has also created other Eeveelutions in the same art style, including an impressive mecha version of Leafeon, which garnered a little over 4,000 upvotes, paling in comparison to the mecha Vaporeon above.
The Eeveelution of Art Styles
In addition to its mecha rendition, the same Pokemon fan artist has also created artwork of Vaporeon in the art style of Monster Hunter. Featuring an intricate, organic style, the Monster Hunter version of Vaporeon appears far more fearsome than its mecha counterpart, and features an imaginative tail which transitions to fish-filled water towards the tip. These vastly different pieces of Vaporeon fan art not only are a testament to the Pokemon’s enduring popularity, but are demonstrative of the outpouring of creativity that never seems to cease from the Pokemon fandom.
