One of 2024’s Highly Rated Games Gets Its Lowest-Ever Price on Steam

One of the most critically acclaimed games of 2024, Mouthwashing, has received its biggest-ever price drop on Steam and is currently up for grabs for $10.39. Developed by Wrong Organ, Mouthwashing is a psychological horror game that came out on September 26, 2024 for PC.

If there’s one thing that separates the PC gaming segment from console gaming, it’s the fact that the former platform is a treasure trove of numerous well-received indie games. While many of those games are multi-platform, there are a number of notable indies that are only available on PC at the time of writing. The year 2024 saw the arrival of certain PC-exclusive indie hits, such as UFO 50 and Mouthwashing, replenishing the supply of memorable indie experiences on the platform. What’s more exciting is that the latter, which has “Overwhelmingly Positive” reviews on Steam, is selling for its lowest price ever right now.

Mouthwashing recently got a limited-time 20% discount on Steam, its biggest ever since being released four months ago, taking the price to just $10.39. This special price beats the game’s previous low of $11.69 and ends on February 17, 2025, at 10 AM PST or 1PM EST. At the same time, UFO 50 has also slashed its original price by 15% and is going for $21.24, offering something different compared to Mouthwashing‘s horror theme. The compilation, which contains 50 different 8-bit era-themed games, was last available for this price over a month ago, on January 2, 2025.

Mouthwashing Tells an Unsettling Tale of a Crew Stranded in Space

Wrong Organ’s Mouthwashing uses the first-person perspective to show the player the disastrous fate of the space crew aboard the ill-fated vessel called Tulpar. It mainly involves exploration, puzzle-solving, and interaction with fellow crew members. Thanks to an impressively positive launch last year, the horror title published by Critical Reflex holds an average rating of 83 on OpenCritic. Among the most widely praised aspects is Mouthwashing‘s unique narrative, which intriguingly follows a non-linear approach.

While the ongoing deal is certainly an enticing one for those looking to play an immersive horror game, there are plenty more similar discounts expected to hit Steam over the rest of 2025. The Valve-owned platform’s next major sale this year, known as the Steam Spring Sale, is scheduled to take place starting from March 13 to March 20.
