After being ambushed by bandits, Henry and the other soldiers are stranded in the town of Troskowitz, stripped of their money and dressed in beggars’ clothes. With little to their name, players are encouraged to explore the game’s vast open world, searching forests and abandoned camps for weapons, armor, and valuables to sell. This early stage of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 provides a tough but immersive survival challenge, forcing players to scavenge for resources.
Throughout the Trosky Region, players can discover various side quests, one of which is the Mice quest in Tachov. Completing this quest is crucial, as it unlocks a follow-up quest that rewards players with the “Truce“ Trophy/Achievement. Here’s how to do it.

How To Start The Mice Quest
Make your way to Tachov and go to the Tavern. Here, you can find Innkeeper Prochek and ask him about the trouble he is having with the Zhelejovites. He will explain how the Zhelejovites have pranked the Tachov people over the last few years, and that he wants to prank them back. He will mention that Olbram, who owns a large plot of land in Zhelejov, has a white bull that Prochek wants you to paint. Painting the bull while it is awake would be quite challenging, so you need to craft a potion to knock it out, giving you ample time to paint. He will also advise you that, since this is all a prank, you should be careful and not get caught while you are in Zhelejov.
Make sure you do not inform the people of Zhelejov that they are being pranked, as this will fail the quest.
First, head over to Blacksmith Radovan and tell him that you need something to calm an animal down. If you have completed the first quest of his questline, “The Blacksmith’s Son,” he will tell you the

Acquiring Paint For The Bull
To acquire 
Bull Paint
, make your way to Tailor Bartoshek in Troskowitz and ask for some. He will mention having some left and will sell it to you for 60 Groschen. If you have enough money, simply pay him to speed up the process.
Alternatively, you can pass a Speech check to tell him that the paint is too expensive. This is an easy Speech check, and if successful, you will get the option to explain your reasons. Choose to tell the truth, and keep listening to him talk about paint. You will have to listen a few times before he gives you the paint for free. The tailor also sells clothing and can repair your worn clothes in exchange for Groschen.
With the paint in your possession, make your way to Apothecary Emmerich to craft the sleeping potion.

Crafting The Bull’s Sleeping Potion
Apothecary Emmerich is located in the middle of Troskowitz. To make the Lullaby Potion, you will need 
Herb Paris
, 
Thistle
, and 
Poppy
, all of which can be found relatively close by. You can buy Herb Paris from Emmerich, while Thistle and Poppy can be gathered from his yard. Poppy might be a little farther away on the other side of the fence, while Thistle is near the stone fences.
Once you have gathered all the ingredients, head to the Alchemy Bench and follow these steps to craft the Lullaby Potion:
- Add all ingredients to the right of the cauldron for easy access.
- Add Oil, then add the Poppy to the cauldron.
- Boil for one hourglass duration, then raise the cauldron.
- Add the Thistle to the cauldron and boil for one hourglass duration.
- Grind the Herb Paris using a Pestle.
- Add the Herb Paris to the Cauldron.
- Pour the potion into a Phial.
You will need three Lullaby Potions to make the Bull fall asleep, since it is such a large beast. If your potion turns out to be a Weak Lullaby Potion, you may need to gather more ingredients and repeat the process to create a stronger version.
Painting The Bull In Mice Quest
With the potion and paint in hand, fast travel to Zhelejov. Head inside the barn to interact with the water trough, pouring the sleeping potion into it for the bull to drink. Wait until nighttime when the bull sleeps inside the barn, then sneak in. A Hired Hand might be sitting outside, so you can throw a rock to distract him before entering.
Once inside, interact with the bull to choose from multiple painting options. This choice does not affect the quest’s outcome. When you are finished, return to Tachov and inform Prochek. He will reward you with 85 Groschen and start the next side quest, “Battle of the Frogs and Mice.”
