Summary

- FromSoftware has now apologized and is considering another network test session to make up for the problems.
- It also says that it’s working on improving the stability of its servers for the network tests coming this weekend.
Elden Ring Nightreign will undoubtedly be one of this year’s biggest releases, despite it not really being your standard soulslike. Still, it has FromSoftware behind it, which is a fact that will entice legions of fans to try it out alone, and the game’s first network test, which happened earlier today, was the first chance for many to try the game out for the first time.
Unfortunately, it appears as though FromSoftware wasn’t prepared for the sheer amount of people trying to get in, as the game’s first network test was a disaster. There were massive queue times, players couldn’t get past the title screen, and the entire thing had to be reset due to congestion. It was a complete mess no matter which way you slice it, and FromSoftware is already trying to make up for it.
Elden Ring Nightreign Might Get Another Network Test After Server Issues
Shortly after the network test ended, FromSoftware used the Elden Ring Twitter account to issue an apology to all the players affected by the server issues, and promised that it’s going to work on improving the stability of the upcoming network tests this weekend. It also claimed that it’s “considering” an additional network test session to make up for the one that was essentially ruined by all the issues.

It’s time to move on from summon signs.
While it’s being “considered” at the moment, it would be surprising if an extra session wasn’t added on after all the issues. Capcom recently proved with the second Monster Hunter Wilds beta, which was inaccessible to a lot of people due to the recent PSN outage, that developers are more than able to extend betas and test if they’re ruined in some way.
Even if you did miss your chance to play Elden Ring Nightreign, it’s not like you have to wait all that long before the full game launches. It was revealed earlier this week that the game will be launching on May 30, and a recent leak on the Steam store revealed that extra bosses and characters are planned for after launch too. That’s just a little over three months until we can get our hands on it, which should be more than manageable considering how long we had to wait for the first game.
