The Wasteland Courier is a quest in Avowed you pick up Thirdborn after speaking to a nervous looking merchant. He will ask you to pick up a package for him, but refuses to tell you exactly what’s inside it. To protect its secrecy, he doesn’t even offer its location, but instead requests you follow a system of white arrows. The first one is right by his side.

Across Avowed, there are lots of main and side quests, and many are hidden away in the corners of the map.
Thankfully, a lot of the busiwork of this quest is unnecessary. There is no reward for following the arrows exactly, nor is there much interesting you find along the way besides some skirmishes. Therefore, you can skip the trail and head straight to the destination.
Why Are There White Arrows Around Shatterscarp?
You willl probably end up spotting these arrows before you grab the quest, as they can be found all over the map. Since they’re so spaced out, you might not realise they lead anywhere, and following them can feel like a wild goose chase. All this to say, if you’ve spotted the arrows and are wondering why, they play a part in The Wastland Courier side quest. However, even then, they’re not too important, as we’ll dive into below.
How To Find The Grafitti
Your goal for this mission wil read ‘how to find the grafitti’ because at the end of the trail of arrows, you’ll see some writing on a stone pillar that lets you know you’re close. To get there, head to the cave in the Deadfall Highlands. As you can see in the image above, it is directly above the ‘d’ of ‘Highlands’ on the map. There is an arrow pointing up a ramp, and at the top of the ramp, there is a cave.
When you go through this cave, there is a curved stonewalkway leading to a breakable wooden barrier. Break it with a standard attack, then on the other side take out the Crystal Eater Spiderlings. There are four, then another two appear. After this, there is a chasm ahead of you that you can jump over. Here, you will find the grafitti, but you’re not done yet.
How To Get Down The Gorge
When you arrive at the grafitti, go left up the next part of the cliff. Here, you will see more grafitti, and be overlooking a gorge where your destination awaits. Unfortunately, the cliff is too steep to jump or slide down. Instead, walk up to the grafitti and you will notice the wooden floor is breakable. Aim an attack downwards then drop down the hole.
You will immediately be confronted by more Crystal Eater Spiderlings to defeat, and as you progress through the open area, you will fight a handful more. Once they have been defeated, head to the raised ledge at the back and left of the arena, then run along and jump through the opening on the right. This takes you to Aiko’s Campsite, where your quest completes.
Should You Take The Drugs In The Package?
When talking to Aiko, he becomes woozy, having recently been bitten by a spider. At the end of the conversation, he will ask for 500cp, but he will die soon after. He will belive you if you lie and say you don’t have it, and can be looted immediately after, so it does not matter what you choose. Likewise, you have the option to take the drugs in the package before delivery. If you do (as Yatzli will want to), nothing happens, so it doesn’t really matter here, either.
Should You Return The Package To Daiko Or The Tira Nui?
When this is done, you are left with one more choice. Return the drugs to the courier who asked for them, or take them to the Tira Nui. The first thing is it’s not immediately obvious where the Tira Nui is. Unless you have completed a bounty, you will not have met them. To go to them, head to the bounty board and speak to the person there. If you hand the drugs in, Tira Nui will thank you and offer you a Thirdborn Tira Nui Badge, which provides +2 Might when worn.
As for Daiko, if you keep your word and return to him, he will not care if you opened the package, and will give you a Poisoner’s Kit, which makes your weapons deal +5% Poison Damage. It’s a lot more situational, but also makes you less of a narc, so the choice is yours.
