The Sims 4 Build Kit Tier List

The Sims 4 Build Kit Tier List
Views: 0

The Sims 4 introduced kits in 2021 as smaller packs of add-on content with a very specific theme. The idea behind The Sims 4 kits is for players to add new content to their games, but without the pressure of buying all available kits, or having items leftover in the pack that they won’t use. Kits typically have fifteen to twenty items with several swatches.

The Sims 4‘s build kits include content for creating homes and community lots in The Sims 4. For many of these kits, the content is based around creating a single, complete room based on a theme. While not every kit is going to appeal to everyone, and no single player is going to enjoy every kit, build kits can be judged based on how hyperspecific they are, if they can be used across multiple builds, the quality of the items in the kit, and if they’re unique compared to content in other packs from The Sims 4.

For Sims 4 players looking to get more out of the hobbies and skills available in the game, these mods are likely to impress.

S-Tier: The Sims 4 Kits That Every Builder Can Use

  • The Sims 4: Blooming Rooms Kit
  • The Sims 4: Little Campers Kit
  • The Sims 4: Everyday Clutter Kit
  • The Sims 4: Bathroom Clutter Kit

The Blooming Rooms Kit is a great example of a kit that can be used across a variety of different builds, no matter the style. It includes a number of small items that may seem unnecessary, but ultimately go a long way in making a build look and feel complete. The Sims 4‘s clutter kits, such as the Everyday Clutter and Bathroom Clutter Kits serve the same purpose, providing a ton of small decorative items that make a build feel lived-in.

Children in The Sims 4 don’t receive as much content as Young Adults, so the Little Campers Kit goes a long way to provide for the little Sims. Not only are there some beautiful decorative items in the Little Campers Kit, but there are also some gameplay items that make this kit worth getting for those who care about family and legacy gameplay in The Sims 4.

A-Tier: Building Spaces For Any Sim

  • The Sims 4: Book Nook Kit
  • The Sims 4: Modern Luxe Kit
  • The Sims 4: Comfy Gamer Kit
  • The Sims 4: Refined Living Room Kit
  • The Sims 4: Artist Studio Kit
  • The Sims 4: Cozy Kitsch Kit

Modular furniture gives builders the freedom to create all kinds of designs, and the Book Nook Kit‘s modular bookcases have the potential to transform a room to create beautiful libraries, studies, and drawing rooms. The additional book clutter also works well in other parts of the house, making this kit multifunctional.

The Modern Luxe Kit may seem like a niche kit, but it includes a variety of beautiful items that can be used in many different styles of builds. It also includes wallpaper, a ceiling swatch, a framed TV, and some of the best curtains in The Sims 4. The Modern Luxe Kit also has decorative items that are incredibly simple but integrate seamlessly as decor, such as a throw pillow. The Comfy Gamer Kit is similar, albeit with a different style. It comes with a throw rug that can be used in different builds, and its gameplay items can be used by any Sim family.

The Sims 4 Reveals Businesses and Hobbies Expansion Pack

Electronic Arts reveals the upcoming Businesses and Hobbies expansion pack for The Sims 4, which will give players more content in these areas.

B-Tier: Additional Items That are Nice to Have

  • The Sims 4: Storybook Nursery Kit
  • The Sims 4: Cozy Bistro Kit
  • The Sims 4: Courtyard Oasis Kit
  • The Sims 4: Riviera Retreat Kit
  • The Sims 4: Greenhouse Haven Kit
  • The Sims 4: Pastel Pop Kit

Another life stage that needs more attention in The Sims 4 are Infants, and the Storybook Nursery Kit brings some much-needed decor and furniture to create a beautiful nursery. While The Sims 4 base game should include more items for Infants, the content in the Storybook Nursery Kit is based around a coherent enough theme to justify its presence.

The Cozy Bistro Kit is the only kit created specifically for community lots, and has some beautiful items for creating cafés and bars, but it suffers from the same problem as the Courtyard Oasis Kit in that the items are very niche and only one type of space can be created. The Pastel Pop Kit has a similar problem, in that it has beautiful items that are great for feminine spaces, but otherwise can’t be used in other settings.

C-Tier: Niche Items For Different Spaces

  • The Sims 4: Decor to the Max Kit
  • The Sims 4: Basement Treasures Kit
  • The Sims 4: Desert Luxe Kit

The Decor to the Max and Basement Treasures Kits have some great items, but only suit a specific style of room and can’t be used across multiple builds. In particular, the Decor to the Max Kit is centered on the maximalism trend, a niche trend which may not be for every Simmer. The Desert Luxe Kit is comparatively small compared to other kits, but its items are neutral enough to be used in different types of builds.

The Sims 4: 9 Best Packs For Building

These packs include a great selection of items and building options – perfect for Simmers wanting to expand Build Mode in The Sims 4.

D-Tier: Overly Specific Items

  • The Sims 4: Castle Estate Kit
  • The Sims 4: Industrial Loft Kit

The Castle Estate Kit offers new items in Build Mode that allows players to create elaborate European-style castles. It doesn’t include any gameplay or many Buy Mode items, but The Sims 4‘s base game includes items that can furnish a castle. This was a kit that was voted for by the community. The Industrial Loft Kit is more adaptable than the Castle Estate Kit, but it shares the same problem in that it only suits a specific style of build.

F-Tier: Limited Items Or Duplicates

  • The Sims 4: Country Kitchen Kit
  • The Sims 4: Secret Sanctuary Kit
  • The Sims 4: Casanova Cave Kit
  • The Sims 4: Party Essentials Kit

The Country Kitchen Kit was widely criticized for containing items that were too similar to the kitchen items from The Sims 4: Cottage Living, as well as not having as many items as other kits that were released later. The Secret Sanctuary and Casanova Cave Kits were the first hybrid kits to be released, and were a celebration of the iconic NPCs Bella Goth and Don Lothario. Despite their fame, these two kits have some nice Create-a-Sim and build items, but neither kit has enough items to build a fully functional room, with build items sacrificed for a few CAS items.

The Party Essentials Kit is one of the most niche of all the kits. Nearly all the items in the kit have an alternative in The Sims 4 base game, while the items that are unique can only be used for parties.
