Mitzi Roberts Has Revealed She Wasn’t Happy About Bosch: Legacy’s Cancelation
Mitzi Roberts is a real life serial killer hunter, with 29 years of experience in the LAPD. The homicide detective retired last year to work full-time on the upcoming Ballard spin-off, as an executive producer and writer. Roberts was Michael Connelly’s real life inspiration for the fictional cold case investigator and worked on Bosch and Bosch: Legacy as a technical advisor. Mitzi Roberts has finally given fans confirmation that the cast and crew were not supportive of the decision to end Bosch: Legacy. On the Bosch Pit Facebook group, she told fans:
I’ve worked on Bosch for 10 years and Titus (Welliver) is a dear friend to me. Obviously, I can’t say much other than we’re all very bummed about the decision. That said, hopefully, you’ll love the Ballard series too. As you said, it was written to compliment Bosch, never to replace it.
Roberts is under contract with Amazon for the Ballard spin-off, so she clearly isn’t able to divulge too much information. Amazon has tried to cover up what is really going on behind closed doors, but the cat is officially out of the bag now. Fans now know beyond a reasonable doubt that the end of Bosch: Legacy was not a creative decision.

September 2024: Michael Connelly announces the end of Bosch: Legacy with the following statement on Instagram.
I’m happy to announce that the third season of Bosch: Legacy will premiere on Prime in March. I think it’s our best yet. It will also be the last season, bringing to a fitting close a 10 season run with this character, played so well by Titus Welliver.
Mitzi Roberts was very clear that everyone was disappointed with Amazon’s decision to cancel Bosch: Legacy, so this just proves that Michael Connelly’s hands ‘were’ tied with that statement. Connelly and Roberts are close collaborators, and they had big plans for the Ballard spin-off to run alongside Bosch: Legacy. Roberts clearly states ‘it was written to compliment Bosch, never to replace it’. Amazon CANCELED Bosch: Legacy and lied to their subscribers about it. Loads of shows are axed every year, but why did Amazon feel the need to hide the fact that they canceled Bosch: Legacy?
Mitzi Roberts’ comments are a big turning point in the Bosch: Legacy cancelation story. Amazon could have avoided all these questions if they’d done one very simple thing: told the truth. What does Harry Bosch always say? ‘Knock On Doors’. The truth is finally coming out, and other people associated with Bosch: Legacy should follow Mitzi Roberts’ lead and speak out.
