Nexon Games released a helpful new update for The First Descendant with gameplay improvements to the Void Erosion Purge, which fans have been clamoring for during Season 2. Many fans of The First Descendant weren’t happy with the endgame content, citing frustrations with weapons and Void Erosion Purge’s difficulty.

Despite The First Descendant’s mixed reception on platforms like Steam, Nexon Games has continued to improve the game and implement new features and content that keeps coming back for more. This content includes all-new Descendants and Ultimate Descendants, new weapons and gear, and new maps and modes, including the Void Erosion Purge. However, fans have not been happy with the Void Erosion Purge due to weapons feeling underpowered and troublesome enemy spawns that make the mode very difficult, even for players playing in groups of four.

The First Descendant Season 2 hotfix 1.2.7 is available now on all platforms, and the update makes notable improvements to Void Erosion Purge. In a message shared with the hotfix’s patch notes, The First Descendant director Minseok Joo acknowledged the issues involving Void Erosion Purge, and the update focuses on ensuring the gameplay experience is better while “addressing elements that may have caused discomfort.” Elite Wardens have fewer ranged skills, and Normal and Elite Trackers no longer apply the Chill status effect. Monster spawns for stage 21 onward were also reworked to lower enemy spawns for Farseers and Trackers. The difficulty of Void Erosion Purge has been adjusted for solo players as well, and Commander Monsters were nerfed for players that play in groups of two to four.

The new update increases the attribute attack of weapons in Void Erosion Purge, making them more consistent and reliable for intense gunfights and boss battles. Ammo drops were greatly increased, and the new reward distribution rules ensure players still get a fair amount of rewards, even when accounting for penalty duration. These changes should make Void Erosion Purge much more enjoyable to play and complete, but director Joo notes that there are still issues to address in future The First Descendant updates. The updates aim to improve many other elements for one of 2024’s best co-op games.

Balance adjustments for The First Descendant’s playable Descendants and further refinements to Void Erosion Purge will be made at a later date, according to Joo. Due to ongoing preparations for The First Descendant Season 2 Episode 2 and other events, additional fixes and adjustments could not be made as quickly as the team wanted. More details about the upcoming updates will be revealed at a later date, and the developer is still gathering feedback to improve Void Erosion Purge content in the future.

  • Public Operation is now available in stages 26 and 27 of Void Erosion Purge.
  • Changed the number of ranged skills of Elite Wardens from 8 to 3.
  • Removed the Chill status effect of Normal and Elite Trackers.
  • Changed the beam skills of Normal and Elite Farseers, Trackers, and Abominations so that the beam no longer rotates left or right as the target moves.
  • Changed the beam skill of the Commander monster Gruncah to slow down when it starts tracking a target.
  • Removed the guiding ability from the skills of Normal and Elite Annihilators and Living Artillery.
  • The drop rate of all tiers of General Rounds, Special Rounds, Impact Rounds, and High-Power Rounds has doubled compared to the previous rate.
  • Changed the reward distribution rules for Void Erosion Purge so that clear rewards are awarded upon completion of the mission regardless of the penalty duration.

The Last Dagger

– Default Firearm ATK has been increased by about 29%. Hitting an enemy grants the Unique Abilities Patience and Lethal Dagger. ㄴ Lethal Dagger increases Critical Hit Rate per stack. Reloading when Patience is at max stacks resets Patience and grants the Strike effect. While Strike is in effect, shooting fires Enhanced Rounds. When Strike is removed, the Steps effect is granted that temporarily increases your Movement Speed.

Restored Relic

When a Guided Round explodes, it creates multiple Cluster Rounds depending on its Enhancement Level. Cluster Rounds track to nearby enemies.

Sigvore’s Proof

Damage dealt by Sticky Bombs increases proportionally to the number of Sticky Bombs installed.
