Getting rich in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 can be quite time-consuming, especially knowing that most side quests usually don’t pay very well. Gambling in Dice games is one way to get rich fast, but it doesn’t come without risks. At the end of the day, thievery is a lot safer for skilled players.

Knowing how things fluctuate for Henry throughout the story, it’s utterly clear that Thievery is one of the most important skills in the game—if not the most important one—and could create a fully armored nobleman out of a naked wanderer in a brief period. That said, such a transformation requires some practice and XP farming, which is not as difficult as one may think. This guide is here to teach you the quickest ways to farm Thievery XP in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.

Wonders of Man Skill - Kingdom Come Deliverance 2

Before attempting to farm thievery, there is an optional upgrade in the Scholarship skill that can significantly speed up the process. If you have a Scholarship of 8 or higher, unlock the Wonders of Man skill, which provides a 20% boost to Thievery and Craftsmanship XP. This will help you get the most out of Thievery farms.

There are two major ways to earn Thievery XP in the game: lockpicking and pickpocketing. For lockpicking, Henry needs some lockpicks and chests to get started with, but pickpocketing does not need any tools at all, though there are great farming points for both of them.

The first farm is at Lower Semine, and this location will actually be unlocked through the main story’s progression. Follow the optional main quest to get to the wedding by helping Miller Kreyzl. After talking with Kreyzl, you should agree to carry sacks for him. At the end of this, a new side quest, Materia Prima, will kick off. The quest is an introduction to lockpicking and pickpocketing, and it comes with an optional mission that allows the player to practice Thievery skills.

Lockpicking - Kingdom Come Deliverance 2

The lockpicking practice will give Henry a chest that locks itself after every lockpicking attempt. Aside from being a good bit of practice though, this is a major Thievery XP farm. Every time that the player lockpicks the chest, they receive 35 XP for Thievery. So, just repeat practicing until Henry says it’s too easy to lockpick the practice chest. This should raise your Thievery level significantly, especially if you are at a basic level.

The next practice at the same location is pickpocketing, which is taught by one of Kreyzl’s hired hands. Meet the young man and repeatedly ask him to practice pickpocketing. This is yet another XP farm for Thievery that should help you progress further, though not as much as lockpicking.

Once both practicing farms come to an end, the next best source of Thievery XP is pickpocketing people while they are asleep. Simply wait until midnight and then head to every city and look for open doors or the ones that require Easy or Very Easy lockpicking. Head inside the rooms, and pickpocket anyone sleeping. Just make sure to steal as many things as possible, as they all contribute to the Thievery XP collected.

The good news about pickpocketing is that you never run out of resources, because the same people will have new stuff in their pocket the next night when they go to sleep. Innkeeper Betty’s tavern in Troskowitz, for example, is a great place for this, as the door to her bedroom is always open. The same goes for Miller Kreyzl’s home in Lower Semine. Visit these homes—and others—every night and pickpocket their residents to quickly earn Thievery XP.
