Summary
- Steam users can grab Stellar Mess for free until Feb. 27.
- Stellar Mess is a point-and-click adventure game inspired by classics of the genre.
- A sequel is listed as “coming soon” on the platform.
Steam users have until February 27 at 12:00pm CST to claim Stellar Mess: The Princess Conundrum (Chapter 1) for their digital libraries for free. When it comes to free games, PC gamers don’t always know when they’ll be able to get one through Steam. Other platforms, like the Epic Games Store and GOG, have free game giveaways on a more regular, consistent basis.
This is likely because the Epic Games Store free games and the free titles given away on GOG seem to be giveaways hosted by the platform owners themselves, whereas the free Steam games are usually initiated by the publishers of the games. Regardless, between all the major platforms, PC gamers have a steady supply of free games that they can add to their various digital libraries.

The latest Steam free game is available now and will be up for grabs until February 27 at 12:00pm CST, at which point it will revert to its usual asking price of $4.99. Stellar Mess: The Princess Conundrum (Chapter 1) is free to claim on Steam right now, with absolutely no strings attached. And while it’s a fairly obscure game in the grand scheme of things, Stellar Mess notably has “Very Positive” reviews from Steam users, so it’s something that PC gamers should definitely get for free while they still can.
Stellar Mess is Free on Steam Right Now
Developed and published by Tibba Games, Stellar Mess: The Princess Conundrum (Chapter 1) is a 2D point-and-click adventure game inspired by the classics of the genre. In typical point-and-click fashion, players will navigate the Stellar Mess game world while solving puzzles and interacting with various objects using an old-school UI. Genre fans have responded well to Stellar Mess, and so those that have yet to play it should make sure that they don’t miss this opportunity to get it for free.
Set in 1991, the game puts players in the shoes of comic book store owner Diego, who follows conspiracy theories surrounding the popular in-game movie franchise Stellar Battle. Diego is soon tasked with saving the Princess Lanor from the films. It’s an interesting premise, though point-and-click adventure game fans will have to play the game for themselves to see what happens next.
Stellar Mess being free on Steam is likely a strategic move on the part of Tibba Games. As it so happens, Stellar Mess: Operation Kush (Chapter 2) is in active development, currently listed as “Coming Soon” on Steam. By giving away Stellar Mess for free, Tibba Games can potentially create new fans that will be willing to pick up the second chapter when it launches, whenever that may be.
