Squishmallow has just released four new Sonic the Hedgehog plushes, including new versions of Amy and Shadow. Sonic fans have had a great deal to celebrate over the past year, with 2024’s Year of Shadow promotion leading to hits like Sonic X Shadow Generations and the live-action Sonic the Hedgehog 3 movie. The Blue Blur and his friends don’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon either, as Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds is set to tear up the multiversal track later this year after an exciting announcement at The Game Awards 2024 in December.
The Sonic the Hedgehog series has also generated plenty of merchandise, including a line of Squishmallows. Sonic and several of his friends have been released in round, plush form since 2023, joining classic Pokemon characters from across numerous generations. So far, the Sonic line of Squishmallows includes Sonic himself, his best friends Tails and Knuckles, his love interest Amy Rose, and rivals like Dr. Eggman, Shadow the Hedgehog, and Metal Sonic. Even the fan-favorite Big the Cat has been immortalized as a Squishmallow along with a Dark Chao and a Santa-themed Sonic variant, and now fans have even more plushes to add to their collections.

The stages featured in Shadow’s side of Sonic X Shadow Generations are rather interesting, but one of them may have more to it than fans think.
Four new 14-inch Sonic the Hedgehog Squishmallows are now available on Amazon for $24.99, all of which are variants of previously released characters. The first two are Knuckles and Shadow, who are now holding the blue and green Chaos Emeralds and are sporting different facial expressions. Tails now holds one of Sonic’s life-granting Rings, while Amy has a yellow flower.

All four of the characters featured in these new Squishmallows will be playable in the upcoming Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds, which will host a network test starting on February 21. A trailer for Sonic Racing: CrossWorlds was shown during February 12’s PlayStation State of Play livestream, and a later leak hinted at the game’s roster and assortment of track environments.
This same leak suggested that more characters would be added to Sonic Racing: Crossworlds’ launch lineup through DLC, including those from other hit Sega franchises. In the meantime, Squishmallow collectors have even more Sonic the Hedgehog-themed plushes to go along with their Eevee and Chansey Squishmallows, and there are still plenty of popular characters from the games and IDW comic series that haven’t been given the round, plush treatment yet.
