MLB The Show 25 Fans Were Getting Fed Up With Diamond Dynasty
MLB fans enjoy the legends of the game as much as any other sport, so it only made sense that Diamond Dynasty became a popular aspect of the annual game. Fans get to create a dream roster in video game form by using the game’s currency to purchase cards or complete tasks to get rewarded with valuable cards. Diamond Dynasty mode is the place to enjoy playing as Derek Jeter, CC Sabathia, Jackie Robinson, and dozens of other legends.
One major issue for Diamond Dynasty was the shelf life of cards due to the seasons changing and new cards replacing the previous ones. MLB The Show 24 upset fans with valued cards becoming outdated as the seasons changed. Even after spending huge currency or putting up incredible stats with a favorite player, they would become outdated with only a few wild card spots for past season’s cards.
MLB The Show 25 is phasing out this unpopular model by allowing cards to be used all year. Users have the option to truly create a dream roster of favorite players without having to worry about losing said players after about two months. Late game purchasers waiting for a sale to buy can easily access past cards now and enjoy using any players in Diamond Dynasty regardless of the timing.
New Legends Adding Hype For MLB The Show 25
Another big factor for Diamond Dynasty in MLB The Show 25 features the variety of legends. Active players can be used in many modes and the up-to-date rosters can be used at all times. Legends are what makes Diamond Dynasty special, because both teams will usually have some of the greatest players of all time in lineups and rotations during the average online game.

Roger Clemens and Manny Ramirez have been announced as the first new legends to join the game’s mode. Fans have desired Clemens for years as the missing pitcher from his era to join legends Randy Johnson, Pedro Martinez, and Greg Maddux as the top starters of the 1990s and early 2000s. Ramirez’s incredible home run power should make him a fun addition to the game as another big name.
James “Cool Bell” Papa is the only other legend named so far as part of the Negro League inclusion. The Negro League inclusion with a story mode has been among the most praised features of the game in recent years to warrant adding more legends each year. MLB The Show typically adds more legends throughout the season and should reveal more names before MLB The Show 25 is released.
Diamond Dynasty Must Appease MLB The Show Fans
The past few years have seen more negatives than positives when it comes to Diamond Dynasty in MLB The Show. Baseball fans have wanted the game to stop having strict guidelines for each season since it all comes back to rewarding those who improve via microtransactions buying them valued cards.
Games like Fortnite and Fall Guys having a free price to download makes it more appealing to use microtransactions for cosmetic features like skins or emotes. MLB The Show 25 will be a $60+ game at release to make that a harder sell. Diamond Dynasty no longer restricting cards for each season means one can have a great team by just loving the MLB The Show 25 and grinding at the mode.
