Marvel Rivals Captain America Infinity War Skin Gives Him A Bigger Cake

Marvel Rivals has not been slow to add new skins to the game. A little more than two months in, Captain America mains now have five looks to choose from following the addition of the attire the Avenger wears in Infinity War. There’s a subtle difference between Cap’s latest Rivals skins and the others though, and it isn’t just the shape of his shield.

Even with pre-existing characters, it seems the first thing some Rivals do when a new skin is added to the game is check its bum. Nine times out of ten there’s nothing to report. However, as highlighted by Reddit user r/ander_138 via the u/marvelrivals subreddit, Captain America’s Infinity War outfit is doing wonders for The First Avenger’s backside.

“Cap is significantly more cheeked up,” is how anders_138 put it which, I have to admit, is far more eloquent a description of what’s going on here than anything I could have come up with, and I write for a living. It might not be the most obvious butt lift you’ve ever seen, but when you see Cap’ in his regular outfit right alongside his Infinity War look so you can directly compare, it’s pretty clear the one on the right has a little something extra in that wagon he’s draggin’.

This kind of thing doesn’t happen by accident, of course. Someone has tweaked Cap’s bum so that it looks a little bigger in his new fit. There’s a very real chance that the subtle change is a reference to a recurring joke in Avengers: Endgame. Ant-Man comments on Captain America’s behind in the movie, labeling it “America’s ass”. Later on in the film, after knocking out his past self, Cap’ looks down at his fallen variant, commenting on what is effectively his own bottom and agreeing with Ant-Man’s earlier sentiment.

Despite Rivals still being a relatively young game, the number of stories to come out of observations about various characters’ bums is pretty impressive. It didn’t take long for Venom mains to become lowkey obsessed with the effort that has gone into carving the symbiote’s in-game bum. The month after that, the body model for Psylocke noted that she could tell her assets had been resued for Invisible Woman based on the newer character’s backside. Cap makes three which means we’ve been getting one Rivals bum story per month so far. Long may that trend continue.
