Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 - Every Romance Option, Ranked

With how grim the opening hours of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 are for Henry, it hardly feels like love is in the air, and to be honest, for most of the game it isn’t. However, at key moments throughout the story, and during a couple of sidequests, our hero can show off his softer side in romance scenes.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 – Best Horses

Every man-at-arms needs a horse in tow.

There are only a handful of these romances throughout the game, but if you’re curious to see them all, most of them can be experienced in one playthrough, with only a couple of them being mutually exclusive. While you can easily avoid any of these romances if you’re doing a more celibate playthrough, the buff you get after these scenes makes them worth playing through if you’re looking for a practical justification.

Honourable Mention – Flings

Black Bartosch from Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.

A good chunk of the romances in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 will require some effort on Henry’s part, but there are also some shorter-term flings that are mostly self-contained to one section of the game.

These scenes range from the Bathhouse Maids, who will do more than just clean Henry, to dancing with the woefully awkward Doubravka at the Semine wedding, or just knowing exactly what to say to Lousy Mary in Kuttenberg. You’ll even have the choice between spending the night with classy Widow Johanka of Zhernov or the smooth swordmaster Black Bartosch, both guests at the same party, so choose wisely.

Klara

Forage A Little Deeper

Klara telling Henry a riddle in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.

Henry will be given a plethora of activities to keep him busy when he and Capon visit Nebakov castle (definitely not a distraction), one of which includes spending time with the charming healer Klara. She and Henry can bond over their shared alchemic expertise, assuming your Henry has such expertise, and you’ll spend a romantic afternoon fetching her some herbs.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 Vs. Red Dead Redemption 2 – Which Game Is Better?

Both Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 and Red Dead Redemption 2 offer historical sandboxes, but which is better?

If you’re a successful assistant for Klara, she’ll give Henry a relatively easy riddle, and the reward for solving it is a private moment between the two in a hidden meadow away from the prying eyes at the castle. This scene alone would usually just constitute fling territory, but Klara shows up again upon a return visit to the castle, where the pair can reunite if he’s willing to put their recently discovered differences aside.

Margaret

Ulterior Motives?

Margaret from Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.

While most of the main romances in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 will be obvious during the main story, there is one exception to this being Margaret. You’ll first run into her seemingly trapped inside the shed of a miller, where you’ll have to follow the sounds of her screams (and commit a little thievery) to set her free.

Even though she claimed the miller was attempting to kill her, upon further investigation, it’s revealed that she was, in fact, a thief herself. But before Henry can confront her, she’s long gone. Not lacking in any audacity, you’ll run into Margaret again later on, where she’ll need even more help from Henry, this time with some more romantic implications, on top of her signature mischief.

3

Rosa Ruthard

More Than A Nobleman’s Daughter

Rosa aiming a crossbow in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.

You’ll have to wait until quite late in Henry’s story to run into Rosa, where you’ll find her bravely standing up to Vavek alongside her father. She makes a strong first impression, standing firmly apart from most of the noblewomen Henry has met up until this point.

A little later in the story, Henry and Rosa will have more of a chance to get to know each other, and throughout this storyline we’ll learn more about Rosa’s scholarly ambitions, and Henry can even use her services as a skill teacher. If you’re able to prove that Henry is at least somewhat on Rosa’s academic level, you’ll have the opportunity to make your relationship with her more than just friendly.

2

Katherine

Chivalrous Consequences

What makes Katherine stand apart from most of the other romance options throughout Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 (with one notable exception) is her consistent presence throughout the whole story. Instead of being confined to one section of the narrative, Katherine will keep showing up regularly, and each time Henry will have more chances to flirt with her.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 – 10 Best Potions

You can’t handle their strongest potions.

With how disgusted she is upon first meeting Henry during the game’s opening hours (completely justified given his stench), it’s hard to believe that he’ll eventually get to the point where she’s one of the main romances in the game. However, with Henry’s first interaction with her being such a selfless act of chivalry, it’s charming to see how everything ties together for the pair in the end.

1

Hans Capon

Bromance With A Silent ‘B’

Hans Capon shouting in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.

Given their pre-existing friendship from the first Kingdom Come: Deliverance, you could argue that Henry and Hans’ romance is a slow-burn for the ages. This slow-burn continues throughout the entirety of the second game with subtle chances to flirt sprinkled throughout the campaign, all leading to an eventual pay-off in the game’s final hours.

It’s a welcome surprise that the developers were daring enough to add (albeit optional) romantic implications to the core friendship that drives the narrative of the whole game. Unlike all the other romance options, Hans gets an almost excessive amount of time to shine throughout the game and is a well-developed character even before it starts. Seeing a romance blossom between characters that already have so much history isn’t a regular occurrence in gaming, making it one of the most interesting options in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2.
