Fortnite OG is a nostalgic rollercoaster, taking players back to the Chapter 1 island with classic POIs and a lineup of legacy weapons that have long been absent from the loot pool. Now that Fortnite OG has entered its second season, players can drop into Tilted Towers while wielding weapons from the original Season 2 loot pool, such as the Minigun.
However, while much of the content in Fortnite OG Season 2 remains true to its original debut, an iconic Legendary weapon has returned—one that was previously available for only thirty minutes during Fortnite’s pre-season. Here’s how players can get their hands on the Zapotron in Fortnite OG.

Fortnite OG features a roster of familiar weapons. Here are the best ones for Chapter 1 Season 2, ranked.
How To Get The Zapotron
The Zapotron is a Legendary-rarity weapon that can be obtained through Supply Drops in Fortnite OG. Supply Drops are loot caches that land at random locations during each circle, with their locations marked on the map for players to track. During the limited time the Zapotron is available, the drop rates of Supply Drops have also been increased, making it much easier for players to get their hands on this powerful item.
The best way to secure the Zapotron is to reach a Supply Drop as soon as it begins descending. However, these drops are highly contested due to the valuable loot they contain. While the Zapotron can be acquired from Supply Drops, it is not a guaranteed drop, as each Supply Drop only offers a chance to contain one.
Unlike its original debut, the Zapotron can also be found within Chests, though acquiring it this way is notably much rarer.
How To Use The Zapotron
The Zapotron functions similarly to the Rail Gun, which appeared in both Chapter 2 Season 7 and Chapter 6 Season 1. This weapon features a charge-up mechanic, dealing 25 damage per shot initially but up to 150 damage if fully charged, which takes two seconds. It also has a 2.5x headshot multiplier, allowing it to deal anywhere from 125 to 375 total damage depending on the charge time.
Unlike its original debut, the Zapotron also uses Heavy Bullets as its ammunition, allowing players to stock up on plenty of ammo for the entire game. Here’s a quick breakdown of the weapon’s stats:
Damage |
Fire Rate |
Magazine Size |
Reload Time |
Critical Damage |
---|---|---|---|---|
25 (150 when fully charged) |
1 |
4 |
2.07s |
2.5x |
The Zapotron is only available in Fortnite OG for a limited time, and will likely be vaulted on February 17, 2025, at 9 AM ET. It could very well return at a later date.
