One more mechanic that is commonly known to exist in the medieval era is the bounty system. You can find this system in Avowed as well, and it’s one of the best ways to gain some currency while honing your battle skills.

Where To Find Bounties

After getting past the Northreach Fort area in Avowed, which is largely a tutorial, you’ll enter the main map with each region being at a certain spot in the Living Lands. Each main area will also have one major settlement in it, which is Paradis for Dawnshore. If you want to find the bounties of that area, you’ll have to visit these cities.

While exploring them, you’ll see a spot with multiple exclamation marks on the minimap. This is likely the bounty board where you can find a total of five bounties per region. You can simply accept the bounties and they’ll get added to your quest menu.

The bounty targets exist on the map even if you don’t accept them on the board, so you might get to fight them randomly.

How To Find Bounty Targets

Once you’ve accepted a bounty on the board, you can open your map and move it around to find the target location. You’ll see the area having a special blue symbol and a circle around it. When you hover over each target, you’ll see the bounty you’ll find there. Most of these can be found normally on the surface.

However, some of these targets might be hidden inside caves or need you to follow a specific path to get to them. Finding the location for each bounty is generally quite intuitive. Once you’ve found the target, you’ll have to battle multiple enemies at the same time with the main boss having their HP bar at the top.

While fighting these bounties, it’s highly recommended to target the healers first as they’ll make your damage negligible on the target.

Avowed Bounty Rewards

While bounties might seem like an easy mechanic to ignore in Avowed since it won’t bother you unless you visit specific locations, it’s highly recommended to not ignore them. Even in the first area, you’ll get 500 currency for defeating each target, which increases as you progress and visit further regions.

However, that’s not even the main reward you get from them. Most bounties you defeat will also give you a unique weapon, armor, clothing, or accessory. Some of them might also give you multiple unique items, so it’s important to search the loot on every body once you’re done with the fight.

After completing all bounties in a specific area, you can also visit the person standing beside the bounty board to receive another unique item as a reward.
