inkle Ltd has revealed its latest murder mystery adventure RPG, Expelled which is scheduled to launch on iOS, Switch, and PC on March 12, 2025. From the creators of Overboard!, we can expect the game to launch on Android soon.

Expelled! is an indie adventure RPG set in 1922 England, offering a replayable detective experience with a dark twist. You take on the role of Verity Amersham, a scholarship student at Miss Mulligatawney’s School for Promising Girls. However, things take an unexpected turn when you are accused of attempted murder and now face expulsion. Your goal? Clear your name to avoid expulsion and find the real culprit.
Verity is voiced by Amelia Tyler, who is also the narrator of the award-winning Baldur’s Gate 3. Another exciting thing in this game is that you can try to escape your expulsion through both honest and deceptive means; you can lie, gossip, manipulate, and even steal, without getting caught. The game’s unique morality system rewards more evil actions with additional choices.
You can interact with various characters, and all of them have secrets
As a fan of mystery or detective-style games, I’m excited to go around the school day, interact with the characters, sneak around, and use any means to stay enrolled. Plus, your actions affect other characters, who remember everything they see and hear, and even the teachers have their secrets.
With next-gen visual novel elements, a simulated story world, mysteries, and playthroughs lasting 30-45 minutes, with every run being different, Expelled! looks promising with great replayability. Adding to the immersive experience is the music featuring jazz legends George Gershwin, Paul Whiteman, Louis Armstrong, Bessie Smith, and more.
