Blizzard has shared what Diablo 4 players can expect on February 18, when Patch 2.1.2 goes live on all platforms once server maintenance is completed. The new Diablo 4 update will focus on quality-of-life changes for the base game and Vessel of Hatred expansion, and include bug fixes for issues that have appeared during the ongoing Season of Witchcraft.
The news of the next Diablo 4 update came at an interesting time for players. During the 2025 DICE Summit in Las Vegas, Diablo general manager Rod Fergusson revealed that Diablo 4‘s second expansion would not arrive until 2026, breaking a previous statement that Diablo 4 would focus on annual expansion releases. Ergo, the Diablo development team is taking their time to make a higher-quality expansion, rather than rushing a product with bugs and performance issues. Although 2025 will not have a Diablo expansion, players will still have seasonal content to consume across multiple titles.

As for the current season of Diablo 4, players will receive some bug fixes in the next patch. Diablo 4 Patch 2.1.2 will be released on PC and consoles on February 18, after server maintenance concludes. The patch is stated to fix some stability and crashing issues that started appearing during the current Season of Witchcraft, including an issue that charged players twice as much currency to open a portal to The Pit. Plus, issues related to the Armory Loadout and Party Finder windows will be addressed in the version 2.1.2 update.
As for fresh content in Diablo 4, a new Nightmare Dungeon Affix will guarantee a Forgotten Alter Spawn during Season of Witchcraft. Plus, fans of Dorian the Raven will now be able to pet the black-feathered bird, much to his chagrin. The Decay Augmentation tooltip will also receive some clarification into how it works off of Witch Powers and not on anything modified by a Witch Power.
Additionally, a controversial change to the Druid’s Lacerate skill in 2.1.1 that prevented movement while channeling will be revered. The Diablo 4 development team said that feedback from Druid players was the reason behind the reversion, but further improvements for Lacerate are still in the works. This means that Druid Shred builds that use Lacerate will work as they did before Patch 2.1.1’s movement nerf. Fixes to the Unique Power rolls of certain amulets, like the Malefic Crescent and the Fractured Winterglass, will also be included in Patch 2.1.2.
The imminent launch of Diablo 4 Patch 2.1.2 also means that players do not have much time to obtain any Lunar Awakening event rewards they want. Only time will tell how the new Diablo 4 update will fare compared to previous patches.
