Fans of the MCU have been a bit tired of the Marvel machine since the conclusion of Avengers: Endgame. To them, it seems like the wheels have been spinning as Disney has been constantly trying to restructure the MCU to get a new saga going. There have been plenty of dead ends but Captain America: Brave New World seems to set things back on track for bigger things to come.

The Celestials Finally Return
What Does This Mean For Adamantium?
Since Eternals premiered in 2021, fans have been waiting for the MCU to bring up the giant Celestial that crashed into the ocean at the end of that movie. This is how the MCU has decided to bring Adamantium into the fray as the Celestial is made out of it.
Marvel fans should know that Adamantium is the mineral that was used to encase Wolverine’s skeleton to make him the indestructible beast that he is in the X-Men comics. Will this discovery of Adamantium lead to Wolverine being experimented on in a future MCU movie or what else will the mineral be used for?

How Many More Widows Are Out There?
Ruth Hides A Secret Within
Natasha Romanoff, aka Black Widow, was thought to be the only agent in existence when she appeared in Iron Man 2. As the MCU continued, more backstory opened up about the Widow program. Most notably Yelena Belova took over the mantle of Black Widow at the end of the Black Widow movie.

Marvel: Best Red Hulk Comics & Storylines
Red Hulk may not be Marvel’s most famous gamma-powered hero but he’s had some great storylines.
Another Widow agent appeared in Captain America: Brave New World, Ruth Bat-Seraph, who is a security aide to President Ross. What function will she have in the future of the MCU and does she have any direct ties to Yelena or even Natasha?

Why Did Betty Return Now?
What Has She Been Doing Behind The Scenes?
The romantic partners in the earlier MCU films are often forgotten in the grand scheme of things. Betty Ross, President Ross’ daughter, is one example. She was Bruce’s love interest in The Incredible Hulk and has been absent ever since. President Ross says he is a changed man and wishes Betty would see him again but she has been ignoring him for years.
That is until one random call when she picks up and agrees to see him which seems convenient for the plot. She appeared at The Raft in person at the end too. What has Betty been doing all this time, why did she forgive her dad now, and will she return to the MCU?

Who Will Become The President Now?
Is Ross Stuck On The Raft Now?
President Ross becomes the lowly Thunderbolt Ross once more after his hulking rampage at the White House. He gave up the title and put himself in The Raft for protection which is a noble deed as Sam acknowledges. Captain America: Brave New World never shows who Ross’ running mate was.
Presumably, they will take over the mantle of President unless there are other shenanigans taking place behind the scenes. The Vice President could be someone big in the next MCU project or they could just be a background character like most Presidents in the MCU so far. Either way, this can’t be the end Red Hulk, right?

Bucky Running For Congress
What’s The Plan There?
The Vice President doesn’t show his face but another politician does: Bucky. With the upcoming release of Thunderbolts* which Bucky is all over, it remained to be seen if he would make an appearance in Captain America: Brave New World.
It is brief but Bucky does come to console Sam in the movie after Joaquin is put into the hospital. This is when it’s revealed that Bucky is running for Congress which was a big surprise. Is that actually going to happen or will Thunderbolts* rekindle his love of fighting crime?

Sidewinder And The Serpent Society
Did The MCU Borrow From Metal Gear?
There are a lot of villains running around in Captain America: Brave New World so much so that it can make the movie feel a tad stuffed. One villain that deserved more time in the sun was Sidewinder who is part of an organization known as the Serpent Society.

Marvel: Best Serpent Society Members
The Serpent Society isn’t among Marvel’s best-known villain teams, but some of its members certainly stand out.
The Serpent Society is seemingly made up of mercenaries who like to do bad stuff and the higher-ups have codenames. Sidewinder seems to be the leader but Copperhead and Diamondback are two other examples in the movie. This reliance on snake-based codenames seems like the MCU was pulling from Metal Gear Solid or rather it’s probably the other way around. Either way, it will be interesting to see what the MCU does next with Sidewinder and the Serpent Society because it would be a waste of Giancarlo Esposito’s talent otherwise.

Who Are The Others?
Invaders or Interdimensional Beings?
As is tradition in an MCU film, there is an end credits scene in Captain America: Brave New World. Samuel Sterns, aka Leader, reveals that the government will need his help soon. He says the others are coming which should make fans perk up. Leader doesn’t say who these others are but there are two possibilities based on this conversation.
He could be referring to villains from the multiverse or he could be talking about Skrulls. Skrulls were seemingly taken care of in the Disney+ show, Secret Invasion, but then again there is the upcoming MCU movie Avengers: Secret Wars. Are the others tied into that film with either the multiverse or Skrulls or is there someone else out there who is “coming” to make Leader fearful?
