Captain America: Brave New World is the first Marvel movie to be released in 2025, and the first legacy title under the Marvel Studios banner since Thor: Love and Thunder. The movie is the first theatrical outing for Sam Wilson’s version of the Star-Spangled Man, and finds him facing one of his greatest challenges yet. Along for the ride are Harrison Ford as Thaddeus ‘Thunderbolt’ Ross, Danny Ramirez as Joaquin Torres (the new Falcon to Sam’s Captain), and Tim Blake Nelson making his return as Samuel Sterns aka The Leader.

As of right now, Captain America: Brave New World is not faring well with critics. Game Rant’s own review of the movie labeled it “less than the sum of its parts,” adding that it “[delivers] neither intrigue nor tension in serious doses.” Still, it remains to be seen how general audiences receive the movie. Of course, this being the newest entry in the MCU, everyone is probably wondering just how many post-credits scenes are included with Captain America: Brave New World, and what do they promise for the future?

How Many Post-Credits Scenes Does Captain America: Brave New World Have?

Captain America Brave New World Red Hulk Screentime

The good news is that there is only one post-credits scene in Captain America: Brave New World that audiences need to stick around for. The bad news is that rather than coming after the main credits, the post-credits scene really does come right at the very end, calling back to the “Avengers initiative” moment in Iron Man. Marvel may be trying to temper expectations for its projects these days, as it seems like fewer of its releases feature truly explosive post-credits scenes. Deadpool & Wolverine‘s post-credits scene, for example, was mostly just for fun, and it worked pretty well in that regard. By contrast, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania‘s post-credits scene tied the MCU into a bit of a knot, featuring a massive tease for Kang and his council that will likely never be delivered upon. So just how consequential is the post-credits scene here?

From here on out, this article contains spoilers for Captain America: Brave New World and its post-credits scene.

What Happens in the Post-Credits Scene of Captain America: Brave New World?

Sam Wilson's new Captain America suit in Brave New World

Captain America: Brave New World‘s single post-credits scene is also like Iron Man‘s in the sense that it is a fairly quiet moment between two characters that promises something big for the future. Having been apprehended just before Thaddeus Ross has his much-hyped Red Hulk moment, Samuel Sterns has been imprisoned in the Raft, a giant, ultramax security prison where many of Marvel’s worst villains are held. Sam Wilson pays him a visit, probably right after seeing Ross in the same prison and allowing him to have some time with his daughter, Betty (a returning Liv Tyler).

Though Sam is initially cocky, Sterns tells him that something is coming, and it’s not going to be good. As hinted at throughout the movie, Sterns believed he was trying to protect the world from “the others.” He then asks Sam two very revealing questions: “You think you’re the only heroes? You think this is the only world?” Clearly, Sterns knows some stuff about the multiverse, and is foreshadowing a pretty devastating faceoff likely to arrive in either Avengers: Doomsday or Avengers: Secret Wars. Perhaps those rumors about a team of evil Avengers are true after all?

Since this tease is so small, and there are no big reveals or cameos (like Beast’s surprise appearance The Marvels‘ Post-Credits scene), Captain America: Brave New World‘s post-credits scene probably isn’t the most important to stick around for, so anyone feeling impatient can also leave without missing too much.
