Unlocking all companion is a crucial part in players’ journey if they wish to make it easier in Avowed.
Arcanist’s Boots
The Arcanist’s Boots can be obtained as soon as you land in Dawnshore. From the pier, look left to see a lighthouse in the distance. Climb to the top of the lighthouse, and you’ll find a chest containing this unique armor piece.
While wearing the Arcanist’s Boots, all health restoration effects on you are 5% more effective. Additionally, you gain 10% bonus movement speed.
Boots of the Bricklayer
These boots were designed with agile fighters in mind. It increases your Dodge Distance by a small amount while boosting your Carry Capacity. If you’d rather rely on not getting hit at all instead of recouping any lost health with the Arcanist’s Boots, these should be a good choice of footwear for you.
To get these boots, head over to the Pargrun Cache ruins. Climb to the top until you reach a courtyard area with some skeletons. There’s a wall in one of the corners of the castle there that you can blow up with explosives. Destroy the wall and loot the chest inside to find these boots.
Unflinching Duty Shield
This is a unique shield that’s pretty much impossible to miss. You can get it after fighting the Dreamthrall Bear boss very early in the game. It gives you a 10% chance to avoid damagee altogether, as well as a 30-point bonus to your Max Stamina.
Last Light of Day Sword and Delver’s Caution Ring
You can get this cool flaming sword after reaching the end of the Dawntreader sidequest, which you can pick up by going to the Eothasian Temple dungeon in Pilgrim’s Path. Defeat Sargamis, the Eothasian Godlike, and loot the sword from his body.
The Last Light of Day comes pre-upgraded, and it restores 3% health every time you defeat an enemy. It also deals a small amount of additional fire damage. You can enchant it in your camp to gain stronger passive effects.
Once you reach Paradis, speak with Caedmon (or Ofryc) near the Aedyrian Embassy. They’ll give you Delver’s Caution, a ring that gives +1 Dexterity and +15% Parkour Speed.
Paradis Bounty Board Rewards
There’s a bounty board inside Paradis with five bounty targets for you to hunt. Each of these targets has a unique item for you to loot:
Target |
Unique Item |
Effects |
---|---|---|
Nacib |
Steel Garrote’s Plate Armor (on a corpse in the middle of the cave) |
|
Tempestuous Luandi |
Caeroc’s Pride Pistol |
|
Ralga |
Seven Strivings Great Axe (on a nearby corpse) |
|
The Yellowband |
Arcanist’s Gambeson (in a nearby chest) |
|
Octav |
Sheathed in Summer Dagger |
|
By accepting the bounties, you’ll get quest markers showing the exact locations of each bounty target. You don’t have to take the bounties to get their loot, but doing so makes the entire experience easier (and more rewarding).
Ring of Slow Essence
After getting the Steel Garrote Plate Armor, leave the Ruinous Cavern from a nearby exit to reach a segment of Paradis’ outer wall. Look for the statue in the image above and interact with it. This will open a secret wall to your left that leads to a chest containing the Ring of Slow Essence.
This ring slowly regenerates your Essence, allowing you cast more spell in the heat of battle without relying on potions. It won’t do much by itself, but it’s great if you can stack other Essence regeneration effects on top of it.
You can also reach this area by climbing the scaffolding below the cliff.
Anextli’s Grimoire
This unique spellbook reduces your ability costs and ability cooldowns. On top of that, it provides the Fan of Flames, Arcane Veil, Grimoire Snap, and Missile Salvo spells, though you need to points into the Grimoire Mastery skill in order to use the latter two. You can find Anextli’s Grimoire in a skeleton north of the pier in Ivona’s Threshold.
Anextli’s Grimoire is especially useful for melee players, as Arcane Veil can greatly improve your survivability. By using this Grimoire, you won’t need to spend a skill point for Arcane Veil. If you do have the spell unlocked, having Anextli’s Grimoire equipped will essentially upgrade Arcane Veil by one tier. Grimoire Snap is also a pretty good spell for crowd control, while Missile Salvo can help deal with ranged enemies or deal burst damage in general.
