Avowed Players Are Already Trying To Improve Framerates

Avowed hasn’t even fully launched yet, and it’s already getting modded. This comes after Avowed released in early access yesterday, letting anyone with the deluxe edition start their playthrough five days ahead of everyone else.

Taking a look at Avowed’s Nexus Mods page, we can see that many of the early mods focus on improving the game’s performance. Whether this is through trying to improve the visuals or the framerate, there are already a few fan-made creations you can download right now.

Some improve performance, others add quality-of-life features

Right now, the most popular mod for Avowed is Optimized Tweaks AVD – Reduced Stutter Lower Latency Better Frametimes by user VynnGfx. It seems to be working for PC players nicely, addressing some issues fans have had with the performance.

Meanwhile, Nexus user Caites has shared a few mods that make the game a little less frustrating. One buffs companions, making them more useful; another makes the death screens shorter; and a third one gives you access to all of the game’s abilities.

Obsidian games do tend to attract dedicated modding communities (looking at you Fallout: New Vegas), so it’s no surprise to see so many modders getting in there early. If you’re playing on PC, it will be well worth keeping an eye on the Nexus page.

Things are looking good for Avowed while it’s in early access. Reviews from critics are mostly positive, and it’s opened to very positive user scores on Steam. It’s even the best-selling game on the platform right now, so it seems that there are a good amount of people picking up the deluxe edition in order to play early.
